Pop sensation Lady Gaga topped the winners list at the 2010 MTV EMAs, held in Madrid, Spain's Caja Magica! Scooping up awards for Best Pop, Best Female and Best Song, the superstar beamed her thanks into the stadium via satellite from Budapest, where she was performing the latest date on her smash-hit Monster Ball tour.
Meanwhile, digital host Justin Bieber picked up two trophies – winning for Best Male as well as Best Push Act. The busy megastar also spent the whole night interacting and commenting with users right here on mtvema.com.

It was a spectacular night for rock as Linkin Park (Best Live Act), Thirty Seconds to Mars (Best Rock) and Tokio Hotel (Best World Stage Performance) each picked up a coveted silver EMA globe. As previously announced, rock legends Bon Jovi took home the first-ever Global Icon award for their epic contributions to the genre.

Eminem added to his impressive EMA trophy collection by collecting another one for Best Hip Hop while performer Ke$ha received her very first one in the Best New Act category. Newlywed Katy Perry got a belated wedding gift in the form of an award for Best Video and U.S. punk band Paramore triumphed in the Best Alternative category.
Best European Act was won by Italian star Marco Mengoni and, finally, in recognition of her commitment and dedication to making education accessible for children around the world, Shakira received the MTV Free Your Mind award

Wyclef's press release

Wyclef Jean's campaign for President of Haiti  has ended , but that's not preventing him from releasing a new six-song EP called "If I Were President: My Haitian Experience."

Columbia Records will release If I Were President: My Haitian Experience, the new six song EP from Wyclef Jean, available digitally on Tuesday, December 7, 2010.
If I Were President: My Haitian Experience, includes "Election Time," a provocative new universal song written in the wake of Wyclef's recent attempt to run for president in Haiti.  This song is inspired by Pink Floyd's 'Another Brick In The Wall,' with the chant, 'We don't need no education,'" says Wyclef Jean.  "It is also inspired by Fela Kuti's  'Zombie."  It's the voice of the youth.  It is the voice of this generation.  It's the artist once again doing what the politicians should be doing.  This is about inspiring the voice of this generation."

Election Time" arrives with an extraordinarily powerful and beautiful video lensed in Haiti.  Wyclef teams up with Haitian director, Steve Halloun to co-direct the clip.  Halloun, a former student of the University of Miami Film School, like Wyclef, is deeply concerned with helping Haiti on all fronts.  The video created jobs for local residents, including the actors and technical staff, while showing the world unfamiliar pictures of his native country.
"I have to show all the sides of Haiti," Wyclef Jean says.  "There is still beauty in Haiti and I have to show the beauty and the ugly reality that is going to change.  It will change."

Wyclef Jean plans a world tour in 2011.  "The Haitian Experience " tour will include, "the music, the art, the culture and definitely the carnival
