Entertainment For Celebrations; Birthday Party Band

By Lewis John

There are times in a person's life, when they reach a certain age, and that day should be marked with a large celebration which could include a birthday party band as entertainment, lots of food and all their friends and family. These dates are usually a sweet 16, when someone reaches age 21 or any of the years ending in a zero or a five seem to be cause for breaking out the streamers, balloons and party hats.

It is important for guests of a party to be somewhere nice in addition to being comfortable so the venue is a great place to start planning a party for a birthday. Weddings or a formal function like a Christening, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, dance or reunion also should be held in a nice, clean facility where people have plenty of room to spread out, mingle and dance if there is to be a live band present.

Eating a wonderfully prepared meal to live music will balance all the day or evenings happenings. Traditionally, meals in various cultures tend to bring people together and so does live music, which gives guest something to do after their big meal to start working off the calories. Guests could enjoy the tunes of their favorite songs, always better than people talking, or get out on the dance floor and cut a rug.

Depending on the age of the person doing the celebrating and the type of gathering, a live group for a birthday party could consist of that person's most desired band, one they have heard before but perhaps never seen in person. Bands are separated into two groups, those that play other peoples music and those that play their own songs and music.

Those bands that play other peoples music are further broken down in to two more groups, tribute bands and cover bands. A tribute band pays homage to a certain band by the way they dress and play their music. The world is full of popular tribute bands like the Beatles sound-alike band, 1964 or the Dark Star Orchestra playing Grateful Dead music. In order to become a good tribute band, each individual in the group must sound and look nearly identical to someone in the original band.

Cover bands are a little different and play a certain decade or time period like 60's music or the time when jazz was popular. Many cover bands choose a couple of bands and stick with only their tunes so they can become almost as good as the originals. Cover bands could be an exciting addition to any type of party or celebration.

Unlike a DJ who plays record albums and CD's, a live band as entertainment at a birthday party would be more interactive and more bang for the buck because people enjoy live music and would be more likely to get up and dance to a live band than simple speaker music.

Additionally, a live birthday party band could take requests from guests who want to hear a certain kind of music. They could also make announcements about the person doing the celebrating while soft music played underneath. There is just something so special about a live band to help commemorate the extraordinary moments of ones life.
