What You Need To Know About The HTC Desire HD

By Mark Walters

The cell phone and smartphone market is most definitely a crowded one, and it only seems to get more crowded. In part, this is of course due to the fact that the smartphone market is simply massive, and all projections are that the market will only grow considerably in the next few years. Even in this crowded environment HTC has managed to stand out. With products like the HTC Desire HD it is easy to see why this is the case.

The HTC Desire HD has a 1 GHz Android 2.2 processor allowing for quick speed and a wide array of functionality. It is likely to appeal to many smartphone users because it has a huge internal storage of 1.5 GB and 768 MB of RAM. These specs are clearly quite important in this era of demanding mobile computing. On this front, the phone truly delivers.

The Desire HD has a 4.3-inch screen that handles video and browsing rather well. The most common video and audio formats such as Windows Media Video 9 and MP3 are supported along with numerous others.

Frequently, 5 MP cameras can be found on the smartphones, but the HTC delivers a bit more once again with an 8 MP camera that also has a very clever dual LED flash as well. Of course, equally surprising is the fact that the phone lives up to its HD name with 720p HD video recording.

Smaller touches can really help a smartphone stand out in a crowd. The HTC Desire HD works to pack a lot of additional features into its presentation. Dolby Mobile and SRS virtual surround sound are included and help elevate movies and music considerably. You can also expect to find such functionality as an internal GPS antenna and HTC Peep for tweeting along with other social networking software.

There are definitely lots of smartphone options out there, but few pack in as many features as does the HTC Desire HD. While this company may not be as well known as Samsung or Blackberry, it is worth taking a look at. The size of the phone coupled with its impressive array of functionality helps to make it a true contender.
