As if the holiday season wasn't stressful enough -- with the crush of work to finish, the turkey to thaw, the dysfunctional family soap opera, the overcrowded stores and traffic -- you can also add being stranded at your local airport or train station.

Whether it's merely a delayed flight or a cancellation due to weather (O'Hare, anyone?), mechanical problems or even the rare-but-true drunk pilot, being stranded with strangers, unless you're a masochist, is no one's idea of fun.

Sure, there's the adage to make lemonade from lemons, but whoever came up with that never had to spend the night sleeping on an airport floor.
