Micheal Jackson's Doctor 'Conrad Murray' Denied Bail by Judge Posted: 24 Feb 2012 11:40 AM PST Los Angeles Superior Court judge Michael Pastor has turned down Dr. Conrad Murray's request to be released until his involuntary manslaughter conviction appeal is heard.He said Murray must stay in jail pending his appeal because he might flee if allowed out on bail. Murray, 59, began serving a four-year jail term in November last year after being convicted by a jury of the involuntary manslaughter of the "Thriller" singer. Murray, who was not in court for Friday's hearing, had asked for bail, house arrest or electronic monitoring pending his appeal, which he said could take more than a year to be heard. | ||

Ini Edo Premieres 'I 'll Take My chances' in Lagos Posted: 24 Feb 2012 12:35 AM PST After enjoying a talk of the town reception when it premiered in the city of Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, the movie I'll Take My Chances is now set for a Lagos premiere on Friday 24th February, 2102 at the Silverbird Cinemas, Lagos. This is the first movie that the United Nations Youth Envoy on Environment will be producing, this she did in style with Emem Isong, one of the most respected hands in the Nollywood. Having enjoyed a grand premiere in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital at the banquet hall of the Meridien hotel to be precise on Saturday 24th September, 2011, the movie is now expected to draw a larger crowd to it than it did at the Uyo premiere.
