Leonardo DiCaprio tops Forbes Hollywood male rich list

    Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp have topped a list of Hollywood's highest-earning actors, according to Forbes.com.

    The pair earned $77 million (£47m) and $50 million (£30m) respectively to the year ending on 1 May.
 Comedian Adam Sandler, who earned $40m (£24m), captured third spot while Will Smith and Tom Hanks were close behind, making $36m (£22m) and $35m (£21m).

    Forbes described Sandler as one of the surest things in Hollywood.They added that even if his films were not loved by critics they were popular with the ticket-buying public.
Although Smith has been focusing more on his family lately, he still managed to be among the top five best-paid actors.
Hanks' film Larry Crowne was a flop but the actor also voices Woody in the Toy Story films.
The third Toy Story movie was the highest-grossing animated film of all time.

    DiCaprio, who moved from fifth to first place, had two box office hits last year, Shutter Island and Inception, which between them earned more than $1 billion (£614m).
In his next films he'll play FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover and the title role in The Great Gatsby.

    Depp, last year's top paid actor, continues to sell tickets as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
Forbes compiled the list based on earning after speaking to agents, lawyers, producers and industry insiders to estimate what each actor earned for the year that ended 1 May.

      The Roc boys are joining forces with the Billionaire Boys. Jay-Z's Rocawear has scooped up Pharrell's Billionaire Boys Club clothing line.

      According to GQ, Jay-Z's fashion label Rocawear has purchased the licensing to manufacture and distribute Billionaire Boys Club. Jay will reportedly work in tandem with Pharrell on future endeavors.
The pricey Billionaire Boys Club line currently sells at high-end retailers, while the less expensive Rocawear is available at department stores such as Macy's. But don't necessarily expect BBC to be marketed to the masses because of the ownership change.
In 2007, Jay-Z sold the rights to Rocawear for $204 million in cash to the Iconix Brand Group, but retained his stake in the urban apparel brand. He remains in charge of product development, marketing, and licensing.

     Kcee formerly of KC Presh is back with a new video.Now I know is a new single from his upcoming album, which has been tagged as one of the most anticipated album in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

The video which is the first video of KCee as a solo artiste was shot in the calm serene "Balearic Island" of Spain in the western Mediterranean Sea, near the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula.
The video was directed by Soso Soberekon in partnership with QUEST entertainment as the production company.

Christy Essien igbokwe's burial details revealed,to be buried on september 9

      A week-long burial programme has been announced for Nigeria's Lady of Songs, Christy Essien-Igbokwe, who died on June 30.

   Events lined up to celebrate the life of the singer and actress will hold from September 3 to 11 in Lagos.
    Head of the burial committee, Austin Izagbo, disclosed the activities at a press conference held at Niteshift Coliseum, Opebi, Lagos on Tuesday, August 2.
He disclosed that the burial will start with a two-part 'Football Match of Stars' on Saturday, September 3.


    The first soccer game will be between music figures and Nollywood stars; while the second will between members of the Sport Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and entertainment writers at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, by 2pm of the same day.
A Christy Essien-Igbokwe memorial symposium titled 'The Artist in the Socio-Political Development of a Nation' will hold at the National Theatre, Lagos, on Monday, September 5, by 10am.
      
    As further tribute to the Lady of Songs, a red carpet event has been slated for Tuesday, September 6, at Niteshift Coliseum. It will feature 'The Five Divas' whose identities Izagbo did not disclose in a medley of 'The Best of the Lady of Songs.'
     There will be a musical stampede alongside simultaneous candlelight processions across the country on Wednesday and a public lying in state at 'Entrance A' of the National Theatre from 10 am to 3pm. A service of songs follows at the Airways Ground, Oba Akinjobi Street, Ikeja.


      A private lying in state holds on Friday, September 9, at her residence: 43, Talabi Street, Ikeja. It will be followed by a funeral service at Archbishop Vinning Memorial Church, Ikeja.

        Rounding up the burial event for the 'Seun Rere' crooner is an outing service on Sunday, September 11, at Archbishop Vinning Memorial Church.

Oprah Winfrey to receive oscars

         Oprah Winfrey, James Earl Jones and makeup artist Dick Smith will be getting Oscars.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences says the three will be honored with Oscar statuettes at the Governors Awards in November.
       
      The academy's Board of Governors voted Tuesday to recognize the entertainment industry veterans.
Winfrey will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, which honors philanthropic and humanitarian contributions. The 57-year-old media mogul, who was nominated for a supporting actress Oscar for 1985's "The Color Purple," supports various charitable and educational causes, including her own namesake foundations and Academy for Girls in South Africa.
Jones and Smith will receive honorary Oscars for their outstanding careers.Smith, Jones and Winfrey will receive their statuettes on Nov. 12 at the 3rd annual Governors Awards dinner at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center, just above the Kodak Theatre, where the Academy Awards are presented.
