       Christy Essien-Igbokwe Memorial Symposium holds on Monday September 5,2011 at the National theatre ,Lagos.      
     Already confirmed as speakers at the symposium are former Minister of Information & Communication – the celebrated past Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof Dora Akunyili,renowned broadcaster, publisher and two term Senator of the Federal Republic, Mrs. Chris Anyanwu; famed artiste and politician, Ms. Onyeka Onwenu and iconic journalist and author, Mr. Tunde Thompson.
     The theme which the gathering will examine from every perspective is The Artiste in the Socio-Political Development of a Nation.
    The symposium starts by 10 am and it  is open to the public as a major part of the grand activities leading to the burial of the nation's lady of songs and extra-ordinary performer, Christy Essien-Igbokwe, who passed away on June 30, 2011.

    The organizers of Hennessy Artistry, the innovative musical platform launched by Hennessy worldwide in 2006, announced today an impressive list of artistes who will participate in this year's edition.

Hennessy's Communications Manager, Tokini Peterside, told journalists at a star-studded media briefing today that Hip Hop Star - eLDee the Don, R&B siren - Tiwa Savage, King of the Lagos Party - Banky W and Chocolate City's multi-talented producer - Jesse Jagz, have all signed up to be part of this year's Hennessy Artistry project.
According to Peterside, this set of artistes was chosen because of their cutting edge style that sets them apart from the crowd. They are coming together to create, mix and blend their different styles and sounds, to deliver a special song that represents the vibrant music genres in Nigeria.

"The grouping together of such varied artistes is what Hennessy Artistry is all about. That is: a perfect blend of unique elements similar to what is experienced with Hennessy's premium range of cognacs. Similar to last year's edition, a video will be shot for the song these artistes come up with. Four premium night experiences are also in the works at which our consumers can get to be a part of the Hennessy Artistry experience" Peterside adds
The Hennessy Artistry experience this year will give Hennessy consumers and music lovers the opportunity to see eLDee, Tiwa Savage and Banky W live at the Hennessy Artistry VIP Nights coming up in September and October in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. Fans will also be able to win a 'VIP Night-Out' at these events, including an exciting up close and personal experience with the headliners and VIP hospitality treatment courtesy of Hennessy. As a prelude to these exclusive VIP Nights, a Hennessy Artistry Club Tour will kick off in August and storm through various clubs in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. The club parties will feature performances by artistes such as YQ, DavidO, Shank and BlackMagic, and will be headlined by DJ Caise.

The Hennessy Artistry music platform, a global property created by Hennessy made its debut in Nigeria in 2007. The maiden edition was a cocktail mixing contest among bartenders. In 2008, Hennessy Artistry's format changed to a competition among upcoming disc jockeys. Music artistes got heavily involved in Hennessy Artistry in 2009, when it evolved to a competition among up-and-coming talents. The artistes involved in the 2009 edition were Ice Prince, Mo' Cheddah, Jimmy Flames, Bez and Blaise. Ice Prince eventually emerged as the winner of the 2009 contest.  
In 2010, Hennessy Artistry featured Nneka, MI, Ice Prince, Bez and Shina Peters – artistes who represent a wide range of Nigerian music. They came together to compose a song titled 'Like A Bottle' which was produced by Kas with a music video shot thereafter and a Grand Finale Concert at the GET Arena in Lagos

China bars Lady Gaga,katy perry songs from download sites

         China's Ministry of Culture has ordered music download sites to delete songs by Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, the Backstreet Boys and other pop stars within two weeks or face punishment.

   The ministry posted a list of 100 songs — including Lady Gaga's "Judas" and Perry's "Last Friday Night" that had to be purged from the Chinese web because they had never been submitted for mandatory government screening.
   Six Lady Gaga songs in all were on the list, all from her latest album. The 12-year-old ballad "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys was also targeted. Dozens of Hong Kong and Taiwanese pop songs and a few Western hits were listed as well.
The ministry said the rule was meant to preserve China's "national cultural security."

       The  event witnessed various  stars  in the entertainment industry. The Afri-carpet which is one of its kind in the history of Nollywood was conceived by the actress /producer [ Lilian Bach] kicked off  at 4PM.

   Folorunsho Busayo Philips "fliptyce/flippy" is the founder of Fliptyce Entertainment and so fly music company group.
     A music producer, songwriter, singer and Geologist. Born September 23rd in the 80s and raised in Ondo State, fliptyce's love for music and arts started at a very young age, He's always with the choir through out his primary and secondary school days. He started music production early 2000.

  Just like Akon uses ''konvict'' as his signature tune for his productions, you will always hear SO FLY in most of fliptyce production.
His first major hit production was OJUTIWON for Danny Young the first artiste under his record label fliptyce entertainment which is now So Fly Music group  while in the university (UNAD) studying geology and applied geophysic, fliptyce also focused more on entertainment, as he organizes big shows and events in his school  
             
     November 2007, The Nation newspaper interviewed him as one of the students on entertainment run. He developed his sound engineering and production skills while he was in the university.
   He registered his first record label "FLIPTYCE ENTERTAINMENT" during his final year in school, under which Danny Young was signed. The first product of this company is cross over album that includes hit song OJUTIWON, which came out 23rd of October 2009.

     Fliptyce produced five tracks in danny young's cross over album which is a success includes Ojutiwon ft Ojoroo, my girl ft Kel and Paul Play.
   He recently visited the united kingdom to acqire more skills in sound engineering and music production. and also to work with some top nigerian artiste based in the uk.

   Fliptyce recently produced chop my money for p-square off the invasion album. p-square confirmed that chop my money is one of the best track on invasion album, thats why they decided to put it on track 2 on the album.
He has also started work on square records's new artiste, May-D.

Flip tyce has also worked on Faze new album titiled refazed. he produced the brand new single ''AM IN THE MOOD'' the track creating buzz everywhere, with the success of am in the mood, faze can't help it but to produce seven more tracks with the ace producer.

   The follow follow crooner LKT's debute album is gingered with 8 good tracks of diffrent kind of genre produced by fliptyce.
