Jay-Z, Beyonce,Lady Gaga Rank on First Billboard Power 100 List-LiveNation Boss Tops

      Billboard magazine has just revealed its first-ever Power 100 list. Irvin azzof ,Chairman of Live Nation ­, the world's largest promoter, ticketing company and artist management group , is the most powerful person in the music industry. 
     Azoff topped the first-ever Billboard Power 100 list, a ranking of where power and influence resides in the music business and the industries that intersect with it

   Rankings were determined by a combination of key factors including market share, exclusive Billboard chart data/boxscore information, and revenue. The list is U.S. based. As well, the Power 100 puts a premium on the top decision makers at each company. 

   Artists on the Power 100 include Jay-Z and Beyonce as a power couple at No 13, Taylor Swift at No 78, U2 at No.27, Jon Bon Jovi at No 50 , Lady Gaga at No.84,Birdman at 25.
       Azoff's placement at the top of the list is due to his command of the biggest concert-promotion company, the largest ticketing company and the largest artist-management firm in the world. Since live performances are the main revenue source for artists, the touring industry is well represented on the list.

Chiwetel Ejiofor,Thandie Newton For Screen Adaption of Chimamanda adichie's Novel 'Half of a yellow sun'

      Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's novel 'Half of a yellow Sun" will be turned to a movie soon. Sources including Screendaily.com report that Actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, actress Thandie Newton and dominic cooper have signed on to star in the upcoming screen adaptation.

   The filming is scheduled to begin in March and  will be shot in Nigeria,to be directed by Biyi Bandele . Screen Daily also reports that "UK producers Andrea Calderwood (The Last King of Scotland) and Gail Egan (The Constant Gardener) have recently secured crucial private equity backing from Nigeria in order to move the anticipated project forward. The BFI has also supported the film."

Chimamanda adichie

  The film will tell the story in the the  novel which describes the Nigerian-Biafran war,1967-70 and its effects on the lives of a high ranking political figure , a professor ,a British citizen and a houseboy,also the main characters in the book , igbo people who are described as one of the largest ethnic groups in Nigeria, and they were also the main victims of this horrifying war. 

2face's Hypertek Records and Now Muzik Deny Signing Singer Dammy Krane

      Contrary to reports that the Up and Coming Nigerian artist Dammy krane has been signed to 2face's Hypertek records, Now Muzik boss has confirmed to Channels TV that nobody was signed to Hypertek Records ,"though Hypertek is undergoing restructuring , after we may pick up new artists but 2face is the only artist currently signed to Hypertek records",Efe told channels TV.

   Dammy Krane is one of the talented up and coming artists with few good singles released.

That's the question a lot of people have been asking.
Some know her as the 1st Female DJ from the continent of Africa, some know her as the best Female Producer, making a staggering impact in today's  music production scene.

    DJSOUPAMODEL (Aderonke "kehinde" Olatunde)..Originally from Nigeria (Osun State), residing in Washington DC,  is the definition of  Talent, Creativity, Consistency, and a Catchy Personality.

     Currently the CEO of MusicBlvdGroup, a full blown music production company, specializing in all facets of music production (artists, tv, film, commercials), artist management, artist development, apparel sponsorship, and so forth. Till date, she has worked with top clients such as Wyclef, Jason Derulo, Mims, Soulja Boy, Nappyboy(T-pain), and the list goes on.  2012 is already a super busy year for her as she's working on materials for major artists, Film and TV in the states, and  International artists from Nigeria, France and  the UK as well.

According to DJSOUPAMODEL, "you cant define my sound..you'll hear a little bit of everything, with a weird twist.".."my production does not sounds like anyone elses' and thats my nitch"...
   She is also a member of CoreDJs(World's #1 coalition of influential DJS) and a DJ under NappyBoy(T-Pain).

   "WHO IS DJSOUPAMODEL" project is currently in works. According to DJ SOUPAMODEL, " this by far has to be one of the most important projects i've ever had to do". It will showcase my production, writing, and composing skills..let actions speak, less talk. This will also feature some of your favorite artists out there today. This is an international project. I've also chosen to get a few unknown artists with GREAT potentials  on the project..but very selective. You'll hear about it. :)

First single, "NUMBER" featuring  a friend of mine, the RnB Crooner "Brian" from Day 26 is slated to be dropping in a few weeks. Stay Tuned!

P.Diddy Selling Grammy Awards After Party Tickets For $50,000 A piece

     HipHop Mogul and entrepreneur, Sean 'P.diddy' combs is organizing a Grammy awards  afterparty at the Playboy Mansion and a ticket goes for $50,000 .

    Sources tell TMZ that the cheapest tickets to the black tie event start at $1,500 and go from $15,000 to $25,000 depending on the service an attendee requires. $50,000 buys the Monster Cabana package, which includes buffet dinner, open bar, free bottle service and two cabanas for 20 VIP guests.
    The expensive party is for a good cause as the proceeds will go to benefit the Angelwish Foundation for children afflicted by HIV/AIDS,
The grammy awards will be hosted by LL Cool J on february 12 in Los Angeles.

College Course on Beyonce titled "Politicizing Beyonce" Offered at Rutgers University

      A professor Kevin Allred at rutgers university is currently offering a course on beyonce. The course titled "Politicizing beyonce" is being taught to show how beyonce promotes feminism and pushes boundaries.
       Allred says, "This isn't a course about Beyoncé's political engagement or how many times she performed during President Obama's inauguration weekend," but rather about how she promotes feminism and pushes boundaries
 He explained further "She certainly pushes boundaries. While other artists are simply releasing music, she's creating a grand narrative around her life, her career, and her persona. 

   Late last year,a college course on Jay z  titled sociology of hiphop:Jay Z   was offered at Georgetown University by professor Micheal Eric Dyson.

True Beauty

      We all have fallen in love with the romantic style of dancing Salsa that it has almost become a norm at wedding ceremonies to the beauty of the flexed or pointed toe of dancing ballet that it has become a part of the curriculum in our nursery schools.

In Nigeria, we have created our own modern dance styles like the alanta,milano,open and close of Shina peter's fame, even the nodding of our heads is regarded as a dance style.

     I was priviledged to attend a ceremony in the south eastern part of nigeria, Enugu to be precise and there i experienced true beauty in dancing.

From the melodious beat coming out of the ogene(local gong) to the beautiful tune seeping out of the opia (local flute) which made the ladies wiggle their waist like they had no bones.

     The ladies attire was beautiful exposing their midsection and even that wasn't spared in the movement, the men's attire exposed their slim muscular chests clad in drops of sweat.

The buttocks of the ladies swayed from left to right as if it had no definite direction

The vibration of the men's chest could cause an explosion in a girl's thoughts

The acrobatic movements of the dancers could tire out even the strongest trainer

     Their agility & Stamina was captivating, then it dawned on me to ask the true meaning of atilogwu and i discovered it meant '' has magic been put into it''?

To me that was true beauty expressed
