Chelsea FC star and Nigerian Midfielder John Mikel Obi will launch his foundation 'Mikel Obi Foundation' on friday June 8,2012 . The event is scheduled to take place at the civic center in lagos The UEFA champions league winner when talking to newsmen about the foundation said; "I want to give back to the society, Nigeria made me and I have always longed to help the poor, especially the Alimajaris. I grew up in Jos and I have seen these people beg for food. I want them to share in my success and I think this is the right time to help out."The Foundation is not a short term project; it is a long term thing. I will set up a financial strategy to ensure the success of this project. Ex internationals that are in penury are also going to benefit from this project." The Governor of Lagos state Babatunde raji fashola is expected to be the special Guest of Honour at the event.  | ||

Five-time Grammy winner Lauryn Hill has been charged with failing to file income tax returns for several years with the IRS, the U.S. Attorney's office in New Jersey announced Thursday. Hill earned more than $1.6 million during 2005, 2006 and 2007, the three years that she allegedly failed to file returns, federal prosecutors said. According to court papers Hill's primary source of income is royalties from the recording and film industries She also owns and operates four corporations: Creations Music, Inc., Boogie Tours, Inc., L.H. Productions 2001, Inc. and Studio 22, Inc.For each count, Hill, faces a maximum penalty of three years in jail and $300,000. Hill is scheduled to appear before a federal magistrate on June 29.  | ||

Like the much-hyped Tupac Shakur hologram that debuted at the Coachella music festival,King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley will get the virtual treatment by the same company that made the late rapper's lifelike hologram. Digital Domain Media Group, creator of the "holographic" Tupac Shakur has announced an exclusive deal with the Core Media Group to jointly produce a series of "virtual" Elvis likenesses for a range of entertainment projects. According to Digital Domain ,the virtual Elvis will soon be seen in film, on television and in other venues. Concerts appear to be a clear possibility. Digital Domain says it will announce soon where audiences can expect to see the first virtual Elvis performances. The King of Rock 'n' Roll remains one of the most popular figures in music despite his death in 1977. Marilyn Monroe Hologram is also in the works according to reports  |
