Jessie J , Alexis Jordan and Katy B to perform at 2011 MOBO Awards

        On October 5th,2011 Jessie j ,Alexis  jordand and Katy B will take to the stage at Glasgow's SECC for the 2011 MOBO Awards.

Release
     It's been an incredible year so far for Jessie J. The Essex born singer/songwriter has been working away as a songwriter for the last 5 years penning hits for the likes of Chris Brown, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera and Miley Cyrus. However it was late 2010 when Jessie hit the charts as an artist in her own right with the release of her debut single 'Do It Like A Dude' which hit No.2 on the UK singles chart. A further No.1 single 'Price Tag' and top 10 single 'Nobody's Perfect' followed as well as a No.2 album 'Who You Are'. On October 5th Jessie will take to the stage at Glasgow's SECC for the 2011 MOBO Awards. This will be Jessie J's first major awards show performance to date!

      Jessie J commented: "I cannot wait to rock the stage - I have always wanted to perform at the MOBO Awards and it's an honour to be asked. Good times!"

Also announced  is one of the breakthrough US stars of the year, Alexis Jordan. After wowing judges of America's Got Talent back in 2006 at the tender age of 14, Alexis caught the attention of Jay Z who signed her to his Roc Nation label. Since then Alexis has enjoyed chart success on both sides of the Atlantic, scoring a top 3 hit with her debut single 'Happiness' and a top 6 with her second single 'Good Girl'. On October 5th Alexis will join the girl power line up of Katy B and Jessie J on the stage in Glasgow for the 16th annual MOBO Awards ceremony, an evening which promises to be one of the biggest nights in UK music ever.
 The Two artistes are joining the previously announced Katy B

     This week, Nigeria's DJ Humility will set the House ablaze during the second last Saturday night party this Amplified Season.
    
      DJ Humility was born Benedict Afagwu, in Lagos Nigeria in 1978. He attended Stadium High School, where he developed his interest in music and spinning the vinyls.His passion for the turntables was so strong that it kept him out of school. He hung out and picked up skills from professional deejays including DJ Stramborella and Larry B-fresh. After Secondary Education, he trained professionally as a Deejay with renowned Deejay Funky Jay from 1995 to 1999.
         His radio career began in 2003 when he joined Silverbird's Rhythm 93.7fm as an in-house Deejay. In no time, his talent and skills were recognised by the general public and his time on air received massive support from listeners around the City of Lagos. 

Fatai rolling dollar performs in New York today

           Octogenarian musician, Fatai Rolling Dollar and nine other versatile musicians are taking their brand of Faaji music to New York, United States, with a scheduled gig on Friday 22 July.
        
     The ten veterans, coming under the Faaji Agba Collective have been invited to New York by Bric Arts Media to perform at the prestigious 2011 Brooklyn Festival, the largest annual festival in New York.
Apart from Rolling Dollar (84), others are Alaba Pedro (72), Eji Oyewole (70), Shina Ayinde Bakare (66), S. F. Olowookere (65), Samson Adegbite (64), Taiye Ayanwale (54), Nureini Sunmola (42), Kunle Adeniran (35) and Niyi Ajileye (30). Jazzhole Records has over the last two decades, given a new and broader lease of life to the musical careers of these stars of yesteryears.
