late alaba pedro
A 72 year old musician and member of the FAAJI AGBA musical group led by Fatai Rolling Dollars, Mr Alaba Pedro, on Tuesday died aboard an Arik flight operated on New York- Lagos route.

The late musician who was part of the musical group that went on a week musical tour of United State of America died about two hour into the 12 hour flight between New York and Lagos.
Speaking after the flight landed in Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos, the leader of the musical group, Pa Fatai Rolling Dollars, said the late Pedro was discovered to have been very weak while they were leaving their hotel for the airport. He said the airline crew had requested if the late passenger would be able to make the flight which he said he could. But one hour into the flight, the late Pedro was said to have developed breathing problem and panting for breath.

This he said necessitated some medical personnel on board the flight to come to his aid and made frantic efforts to save him. He said the late Pedro had been sick for some time but despite warnings from him and other members of the band he was still consuming alcohol throughout their stay in the US. The musical group left Nigeria for US on musical performance last Tuesday under the directorship of a Nigerian US based promoter named Kunle Tejuosho.

Sunday Pedro, the first and eldest son of the late Alaba Pedro who came to the airport to receive his father from the trip was shocked when he saw all the other members of the band except his father returning alive from the musical tour of the USA. The bereaved son who was short of word said "The death was an act of God." He said the family members would be contacted on the burial arrangements. On the possible impact of the sudden death of their band member on the band, Pa Rolling Dollars said the death was a sad one. He said it was unexpected. He added the death would not lead to disband of the band.
