'The Beatles' Musical Planned for 50th Anniversary of Debut Song

   A London musical will mark the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' debut single "Love Me Do", released in Britain in October 1962, after full theatrical rights to much of the Fab Four's back catalogue were granted to a West End production for the first time.
  "Let It Be" will run at the Prince of Wales Theatre from September 14 until January 19, 2013, and feature live performances of a string of hits including "Twist and Shout", "Yesterday" and "Hey Jude".

    Described by organizers as a "theatrical concert", the show will combine live performances with video footage to tell the story of the Beatles' journey to become the most successful pop group in history.
     The rights to the music were granted by Sony/ATV, the music publishing joint venture between Sony Corp and the estate of Michael Jackson.
   The Beatles ' best-known lineup consisted of John Lennon , Paul McCartney , George Harrison and Ringo Starr 

Whitney Houston's Daughter 'Bobbi Kristina' Gets Role in Tyler Perry Sitcom

   Whitney Houston's only daughter Bobbi Kristina has reportedly landed a role in Tyler perry's sitcom "For Better For Worse".
    This will be the first major role for the aspiring actress who has been taken under the wing of Perry, who spoke at the late singer's funeral last month, and given the 19-year-old a reoccurring role in the TBS Show, which has been picked up for a second season.
     Bobbi Kristina will reportedly play the daughter of one of the stylists who works in the salon run by Angela Williams, played by Tasha Smith.
   The hit series is based on Perry's big screen blockbusters, Why Did I Get Married? and Why Did I Get Married Too?

   Banky W's surprise birthday party on Tuesday March 27, 2012 at The Grotto in Victoria Island, Lagos brought out a large number of A- list entertainers.
  With so much love from fans on twitter, facebook and elsewhere, and a guest list that included Akon, Psquare, MI, Tiwa Savage, Kel, Ini Edo,Skales, Toolz and others, the R&B giant and EME Chairman had a time of his life!
"Even when I gbagaun, I don't get half as many mentions as this ooh…. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes… God bless" the singer said to his fans on twitter, earlier in the day.
   Before The Grotto surprise party put together by his friends, Banky told journalists in Lagos he plans to dedicate more of his time to "helping young talents grow and do all I can to make the journey easier for talented young people out there trying to build a career in music".

"As I grow older, it's becoming very important for me to play my little part in developing this industry; to play my own role in empowering our youths, and in extension, the nation. I'll be happy if I can help more and more upcoming talents escape the hurdles I passed through while coming up. Everyone sees Banky W, Wizkid, 2face, Psquare or D'banj - but people forget that for each one of us that makes it, there are dozens others who fell by the way side; most of them could have made it if only they got more support. I made it to where I am because of the love and support from the media, my label, fans, promoters and my family. I think it's my responsibility, to make sure I support those coming behind. That's what I've done with Wizkid. We're working on Skales now, and many more are on the way".

      Banky W's protégé WizKid was missing in action from his mentor's "Lagos party", but he had a good reason- he was away in America having series of sit downs and focused discussions with prominent African-Americans and promoters ahead of the forthcoming EME tour. "Wizkid wrote in a Twitter shout out to Mr W.
   Banky W's third Nigerian album titled R&BW is expected later this year.

Spike Lee Retweets Wrong Adddress of Trayvon Martin's Killer , Apologizes

   Popular Actor/ director ,Spike Lee's retweet of a tweet thought to contain the address of Trayvon Martin shooter George Zimmerman has resulted in a firestorm of criticism in part because the address was wrong.
   The Sanford, Fla., address contained in the director's retweet actually belongs to an elderly couple who the Smoking Gun reports are "now living in fear due to erroneous reports about their connection to the shooter."
   The original tweet posted Friday by Marcus Davonne Higgins, a 33-year-old from Los Angeles using the Twitter handle @Maccapone was sent to several celebrities including Lee, 50 Cent and LeBron James. Lee retweeted the erroneous information to his 240,000-plus followers.

   Spike Lee has apologized on Wednesday for retweeting the tweet thought to contain the Trayvon Martin shooter ,George Zimmerman's address 
Lee wrote on his twitter :

Report:Jennifer Hudson Coming For Nigerian Idol Final Show

     American R&B singer Jennifer hudson is coming to nigeria to perform at the Nigerian Idol Final show . 
    According to media reports ,arrangements have been maker perform .
    "We have concluded all arrangements to make her perform at the idol finals. In fact, organisers of the American Idol are the go-between. So, it is taken for granted that she will be in Nigeria in April," the source said.
  This is the first time the singer will be coming to Nigeria . The Nigerian idol final show will hold in April.
