City people Hosts Darey Art Alade Posted: 24 Jan 2011 09:06 AM PST Release Friend, Fans and Family of Africa's King of R&B music Darey will gather at SS Lounge, on Victoria Island, Lagos on Sunday February 6, for an exclusive gig put together by Celebrity magazine City People in honour of the iconic musician. Darey, who's finalizing plans to release his third and fourth studio albums (Double Dare) simultaneously, says 'I'm excited about another opportunity to mix and mingle with my friends again; and particularly humbled by the gesture from City People.' The late evening reception, which promises to be star-studded, is, according to the management of City People, 'in recognition of Darey's outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry as well as his remarkable efforts at establishing the R&B/Soul genre in Nigeria'. 'Darey has grown over the years, from the young musician and OAP, to a bonafide veteran, an inspiration  to many within and outside our country, and a source of pride to us all at a time when the quality of music coming from Nigeria  has been a source of concern to all.' City People publisher SeyeKehinde says.

X factor reject,Gamu signed to 50 cent's G-Note records Posted: 24 Jan 2011 05:23 AM PST             British X-factor reject and zimbabwean born singer Gamu Nhengu has been signed to 50 cent's new founded record label ,G-Note records New york,a subsidiary of G-Unit records.G-Note records was founded by 50 cent last december to promote R&b ,pop and dance acts      Gamu's  new stage name will be Miss Gamuchirai  on her new label  .So many record labels have been contacting Gamu for a record deal but 50 cent offered the best deal to take her career to next level . A statement on the company's website revealed: "Miss Gamuchirai has been singed to 50 Cent's new record label, G-Note! "G-Note will focus on 50´s favourite acts that don't fit neatly into G-Unit's hip-hop categorisation and will favour pop and R&B artists."
