Faaji agba collective honour Highlife maestro late alaba pedro

       The Faaji Agba Collective will perform at the burial of veteran Highlife musician, Alaba Pedro, on Saturday, August 6.

   Pedro died on Tuesday, July 26 while returning from a playing tour of the United States with other members of the group.
Other members of the 10-man collective that performed at the Brooklyn Festival in New York are Fatai Rolling Dollar, Shina Ayinde Bakare, S.F Olowookere, Samson Adegbite, Taiye Ayanwale, Nureni Sunmola, Kunle Adeniran and Niyi Ajileye.
     A Christian wake will precede the deceased's burial at his No 6, Rafat Street, Olayemi Estate, Ikorodu home on Friday, August 5 while the interment will hold the following day at the same venue.
      There will be a lying in state on Saturday morning while the Faaji Agba Collective will entertain guests later in the day after Pedro's interment.
     Aged 72, Pedro was a master guitarist and singer who played with the late Roy Chicago and Eddie Okonta amongst others.

Lady Gaga faces lawsuit for copying Judas

      Lady gaga on Friday was slapped with a lawsuit claiming her hit song "judas" on the new album "Born This Way" was copied from a similar tune by a Chicago-based singer and songwriter.
        
     Rebecca Francescatti, who filed the suit in U.S. District Court in Illinois on Wednesday, alleges "Judas" infringes upon the copyright of her song "Juda," which she recorded in 1999.The Chicago musician claims that "substantial original portions" of "Judas" were lifted from the song that she re-recorded in 2005 for her album, "It's All About You.
  Francescatti's "Juda" was engineered by Brian Joseph Gaynor, a member of DJ White Shadow, which worked with Lady Gaga on her new album "Born This Way."DJ White Shadow claims to have written 17 of 20 songs on "Born This Way," the suit says.The suit seeks profits from the sale of the record or damages of an unspecified amount.

Jay Martins duet with Cabo snoop,singles and video to be released soon

     Ace producer and Highlife/pop Musician ,Jay martins has disclosed in an interview that he has done a song and already shot the video with Angolan superstar Cabo snoop and another  acapella with Fally Ipupa. 
Excerpt from the interview
     My new video should be coming out any moment-we're targeting 25th of August.Two songs and one video are coming. One is just me while the other features Fally Pupa in the acapella and in the intro but the entire song is done by me.We have two versions, the one that has me and another that has Fally Ipupa. Of course it's only my own version that will be released for now. Fally's version will come later. And the second song and video is the one featuring Cabo Snoop.
  The song which is a mixture of English ,pidgin and portuguese will be on Jay Martins forthcoming album.
