Creating The Perfect Master Suite

By Abbie Osborne-Wilson

Master suites are a great area which you can make your own. You can change them whenever possible to give yourself a new look on a budget.

Many master suites will have a patio and a bathroom right off of their room which is wonderful. Try to carry the design throughout the area so it looks as if they were meant to be one if there wasn't a wall blocking them.

In some cases the home owner will change the colors up in the rooms to make it feel as if it matches the seasons which are coming. For example; you'll have a great floral print bed set in the spring with many accents of brighter colors such as pinks, greens, and yellows. In the winter time you'd have darker palettes such as blues and grays. Just by changing the curtains and the bed set you'll notice a great difference in the space and it will brighten up the mood.

If you're looking for a few colors to choose for the seasons try going for more melons, greens, yellows, and pinks when it comes time for spring and summer. You want it to be bright and vibrant when it's the warmer seasons since that is what it's all about; the brighter the better in most cases. Try a great flower print or even add this type of patter in the throw pillows which you can place on the bed as decoration. The blue family and some greens are the way to go for winter. The darker a room is the cozier it feels on a cold snowy day.

By carrying these colors into the bathroom you'll make it seem as if they flow together as one. It is quite simple to change the bathrooms decor around by purchasing new towels, rugs, and curtains every few months, very inexpensive and easy to come across.

Use great lace doilies or a nice colored runner which matches your design for your night stand. Placing a great lamp on top will just give it that little pinch of design onto a basic wooden night stand.

Patios are another little sanctuary that some mater suites have. Add a few cushions that have the colors which you've used in your master suite and you'll have yourself a new little get away. What else is better on a warm summer's night then sitting out on the patio with your loved one as you look at the stars?
