Gold and lindsey evicted from Project fame

Posted: 02 Aug 2010 10:43 AM PDT

As MTN Project Fame Season 3 continues to entertain its millions of fans, last week saw the first set of contestants leave the musical show.
Lindsey and Gold became the first contestants to be evicted from this year's Project Fame. Both contestants were among the five contestants with the lowest public votes that were up for eviction. The other three contestants Modele, Joceilia and Shehu were saved by the judges, the faculty and the remaining contestants while Gold and Lindsey were left hanging.

Members of the public based their votes on the contestants' performances of Asa and Tracy Chapman's hit songs. Nigerian soul singer Asa was around as a guest judge when the contestants were performing. Judging from public votes Gold and Lindsey plus the remaining contestants had the weakest performances of the night.

With two contestants now gone, 16 contestants are left in the race to see who will be this year's MTN Project Fame West Africa winner. This lucky group of talented singers will have to face another hurdle this week as another elimination round comes up
Another round of voting has kicked off after contestants yesterday performed. With reggae icons Ras Kimono and Oritz Wiliki in attendance and Ghanaian reggae star Batman Samini as a celebrity judge, the contestants performed timeless reggae cuts from UB40, Lucky Dube, Ras Kimono, etc.
You can now start voting for your favourite contestant or the contestant who you think had the best performance of the night. Just text the contestant's number only to 306 from an MTN line. Please remember to only text the contestant's number and nothing else. Any other added information will nullify your text.
During the week you can watch the contestants as they grow into becoming full-fledged music stars. Throughout the week you can watch 30 minute episodes of their life inside the Performance Academy on several TV stations all over the country.
