T.W.O

Press release

"We are too legit to quit" Wunmi Obe tells news men with a bold, assuring look early this week at an exclusive event to announce the release of their fifth album.

And like she guarantees, the album "T.W.O Legit" stands as evidence. Produced by Sean Keyz, ID Cabasa, Puffy T, Abel Davey, Rymzo, Sean Keyz and Foster Zeeno, the LP takes us on a journey of dance tracks, thanksgiving songs and family friendly songs.

"The album was conceived during the time it was rumored that we had quit music for TV, we even recorded a song to that effect" Tunde Obe says
We are definitely in this for good, and as we keep saying, we are too legit to quit".Wunmi Obe adds.
A new video "T.W.O Legit" and sneak previews of the next video "Believe in me" was also premiered this week
With a career that goes way back from the 80s, Tunde and Wunmi Obe started off as lead singers in a campus band 'Turning point' and got popular Nationwide with their popular weekly television slots on the Charly boy show and Zoom time.
In 2009, the Entertainment industry went agog with the news that the duo were returning to TV, one thing they were known for in the 90s, but they were quick to reassure fans they were not in any way considering quitting music. They quickly returned with Zombie, a single that enjoyed massive airplay on radio and TV stations across the country.
The Obes stretched the limits in their last album; producing major hits like Mogbomoya, Adupe and like a fool and the new album brings a lot more to the table. With songs like Get this party started, T.W.O Legit, Form and already established songs like Fine Bara and Zombie T.W.O Legit cuts across dance tracks all the way to family friendly songs, and leaves fans with a lot of humor-soaked messages to take away.
"It is nothing like you have seen before, it is the best album we have ever done, and we hope the fans will connect with the music.

Mama to the rescue

Why would you do something like that mum?" I could feel myself getting angry, my palms moist with sweat.
"Because I love you, Bukky at 29 many of your friends are already married and some of them are already on their third or fourth children. When are you going to get married?"
"When I am ready" My mother had just come from Nigeria for a two week holiday, she had only been around for two days but we were already at each other's throats.
I already expected this when Titi my elder sister had told me mummy was coming over but I hadn't expected the marriage talk to come this early in her visit. My mum had just told me she had set up a date for me with Daniel, Daniel was a childhood friend who I had not seen since the age of eleven when I left Nigeria. He was in the UK for business. I looked over at my mum she was already sulking, this happened every time we argued. I would shout and she would sulk and make me feel bad but this time I wasn't ready to give in.
"I'm just trying to be a good mother to you"
"Well you can do that without fiddling with my life" Ignoring my comment she went on
"Was it not just last week that Tayo got married and the month before Christina got married but my own child is refusing to get married"
"Mummy you already have two children that are married"
"And what about my last born aren't you getting married"
"When the time is right"
"and when is the time going to be right?"
"Mummy!"
"all I want you to do is to meet him"
"and if I do meet him and I don't like him will you stop with the marriage talk?"
"yes I will" She was already smiling the sad frown had left her face, she'd said she would lay off the marriage talk but that would only last about three days after that she would start all over again, and figure out who to set me up with again.
I remember the last date my mum set me up on; I didn't even last two hours with the man. He was at the restaurant wearing jeans, and a nice v-neck sweater with a shirt underneath. He also had on a really nice pair of shades which would have been nicer if he had been wearing them outside and not during winter, blame D'banj. He must be fresh off the boat. When I saw him I instantly decided on three things, I did not like him; mummy needs to spend more time with her grandchildren and less with me.
"Hi how are you Bukky?" Oh and he was definitely fresh, his Americanised Nigerian accent gave him away.
"Your mum said you were bweuriful and I agree, you are stunning." I wanted to laugh but his shades were really annoying me could he even see through them, the lights in the restaurant were dim.
"Um, feel free to make your order, I need to go to the toilet" As soon as I got to the toilet I called my best friend Gloria to call me back in thirty minutes with an emergency. This was something we did when we found ourselves in situations we couldn't just walk out off. My mum had not been happy about that and when she called she had made it known, and then five months after she called and told me that he had met a British girl and they were engaged to be married, I guess he needed a red passport really bad.
As I walked into the restaurant I still couldn't figure out what the big deal about marriage was, I mean I do want to get married and all but I want to do it for the right reasons, I have seen too many failed  marriages. The restaurant wasn't too packed so finding Daniel wouldn't be too hard. I looked around looking for the guy that looked a little out of place, but all the men seemed to be with someone.
"Bukky" I turned towards the voice, and met the face of the most handsome man after Taye Diggs, no actually that's a lie Taye Diggs would have to take second place here.
This man is fine!
He was dressed in a suit, he was tall and just the way I like my chocolate dark
"What was that?"
Please tell me I didn't say that out loud!
"Daniel?"
"Yes" his voice sounded just as good as he looked. Who knew they still made men like this.
"My goodness you've changed""So have you, you look great" I gave my mum a mental high five, thank God I did not wear the outfit I was initially going to wear, she had seen it and talked me into wearing this dress, I think I'm going to have to upgrade her Mercedes, goodness knows she deserves it.
"You don't look so bad yourself" I hope Gloria is not waiting because today I will not be calling her, and oh that reminds me I need to pay my tithes on Sunday I have a testimony, somebody say Hallelujah!!!
