Private Travel Club Helps Loding Owners Increase Revenue Without Extra Expense

By Shawn Pigg

Is by far one of the most cost effective ways for you to increase your revenue without any extra expense out of your pocket. Lets face it, lodging properties spend millions and millions a year promoting their property and most of the lodging properties remain with a 30% vacancy or more.

Hotels, and resorts can do internet marketing, T.V marketing, any print marketing, but you will not be able to tap into the most unique database and that is private members. You can add your property, vacation property, resort, condo, bed and breakfast and any other type of lodging property that you may run or manage to private membership clubs.

This process is very effective in attracting the public to your property. The public searches these portals and can find the best available public rate. Someone makes a reservation through these portals you could be paying up to 50% in commission for booking services.

Add your property to these types of programs will allow you to increase your revenue without any additional marketing on your part. Simply list your hotel free of charge in the private directory and when a member calls you for reservations, you simply give them a discount that is greater than what the public can receive.

One of the biggest factors of determining if you can participate in these types of programs is what type of hotel discount can you supply to members. Companies such as Hotels Etc. travel club, requires you to provide a certain type of discount to members. Once you determine the type of discount that you can afford to provide to travel club members, then you should contact the travel club and ask to be included in their directory.

Keep in mind, these programs do not make your discounts available to the public, they are only available to registered members and are typically behind locked doors. Members will be required to call your hotel direct and make reservations via your reservation center.

You can also choose to allow members to make discounted reservations via your website if you have the ability to included or add a discount code, promo code, corporate code, or a special code that members will use when making online reservations.
