Keeping Your Kitchen In Order With A Lazy Susan

By Frank Smith

To keep a kitchen running smoothly, things need to be efficient and organized so that preparing and cooking meals is less work than needed. In organizing a kitchen, maximizing all your cupboard space is essential and this can be tricky when you have a corner cupboard. As these are normally large and at an angle, they create an awkward space to access and organize. To maximize and take advantage of that large space a lazy Susan is a great solution.

They are perfect for finding things quickly and eliminate wasting time searching in the back for what you want. As they come in two tiers, things can be arranged neatly on the top and the bottom and it helps to maximize all the space available. A simple spin of the tray brings everything right in front of you so you can choose what is needed without moving cans and boxes all around.

But a corner cabinet is not the only place these can be used. A small one can fit nicely in a cabinet for organizing spices and herbs. Overtime most cooks acquire a large assortment of spices and hanging a spice rack isn't always an option. In those cases, one of these allows one to organize spices easily and simply on both tiers and then a little push of the tray spins it to the spice you are looking for.

For below the counter cabinets, these are also very handy. Normally to search for things in those areas, one is one her hands and knees searching around, but with lazy Susans, a simple spin and everything stored there is shown to you. It is especially perfect for under the sink, keeping cleaning products all together and making room for other things to be stored there.

Closed types of lazy Susans are also available. This is usually when two normal cabinets are at right angles, like a corner cabinet. But it is the doors the spin instead of the trays inside. When the cabinet door is pushed on, it spins around to reveal shelves inside of it. These shelves may also turn depending on the size of the space.

Installing a lazy Susan in the kitchen is a great way to keep everything arranged and organized and allows one to maximize all the space available. These can be installed in other areas of the home, but the kitchen is the most usual place to find them. Even the most awkward corner cupboards are easier to get into and find what is needed when one of these are used.
