Whitney Houston's Autopsy Results Revealed- Cocaine Found In Her System Posted: 22 Mar 2012 08:47 PM PDT Whitney Houston was a chronic cocaine user who had the drug in her system when she drowned in a hotel bathtub, coroner's officials said Thursday after releasing autopsy findings that also noted heart disease contributed to her death. The disclosure ended weeks of speculation about what killed the Grammy-winning singer on Feb. 11 on the eve of the Grammy Awards.Houston was found submerged in the bathtub of her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and her death was ruled accidental. Several bottles of prescription medications were found in her hotel room, but coroner's officials said there weren't excessive quantities. "We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure," Patricia Houston, the singer's sister-in-law and manager, wrote in a statement to The Associated Press. Beverly Hills police said in a statement there was no evidence of wrongdoing in connection with Houston's death. Coroner's Chief of Operations Craig Harvey said cocaine and its byproducts were found in Houston's system, and the drug was listed as a contributing factor in her death. He said the results indicated Houston was a chronic cocaine user. Toxicology results also showed Houston had marijuana, Xanax, the muscle relaxant Flexeril, and the allergy medication Benadryl in her system. Houston died just hours before she was scheduled to appear at producer Clive Davis' pre-Grammy Awards bash. The singer also had buildup of plaque in her arteries that can restrict blood flow. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said the condition is common in drug users, although he said it wasn't clear whether Houston had a heart attack on the day she died. "It just beats up their heart and they will go to use and they will have a heart attack," he said. The exact amount of cocaine in Houston's system was not disclosed Thursday but will be contained in a full autopsy report to be released in about two weeks, officials said. Houston, 48, was buried in a New Jersey cemetery next to her father after an emotional four-hour funeral service that was attended by friends, family and superstars such as Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson and Roberta Flack.

The ‘Other’ Black Music Experience At SXSW- 2 Face, Naeto C and others Posted: 22 Mar 2012 09:07 AM PDT Naeto c performing at SXSW The New York centric music media descended upon Austin with the same fervor as the corporate brands that co-opted stages and parties around downtown. VIP rooms were filled with "influencers" slurping down free drinks and clamoring for interviews with the same artists that play New York, have been playing New York, and will play New York, again and again, and again. But there we were in Austin, TX, where over 2000 acts were playing, and it seemed like very few were interested in truly discovering anything new. It hit me somewhere midway through 50 Cent's show that I was completely uninterested in being there and likely missing the point of SXSW. I don't even like 50 Cent and considering he was performing songs from "Get Rich or Die Tryin" there was no music discovery happening in there. After throwing somewhat of a tantrum to get my crew to leave with me, we took a walk down to 5th street and fell in to a show case of African artists that was purely amazing. Nigerian rapper Naeto-C shut it down before Ghanian band Blitz The Ambassador took the stage and played a set that literally set my soul on fire. As I sat there smiling, dancing and having the time of my life, I thought about how unfair it was that these guys were going up against 50 Cent. Nevertheless, the venue was packed with a mixture of African Diasporic fans and a few curious White guys who said they had just stumbled in. They kept asking me the names of the artists because, "the music was awesome" and they wanted to hear more. A few blocks away Kenyan artists "Sautisol" were playing a set. They played several shows throughout the festival to small crowds because elsewhere Mystikal and Rick Ross were playing. You probably won't see them mentioned on too many other blogs but they're incredible. So are other lesser known talents like Nigerian born rapper 2Face and Brooklyn's own Max Burgundy (whose headlining performance went up against Erykah Badu and Nas). Don't get me wrong, Nas put on a great show. As a super Kanye fan, his surprise pop-up was a highlight. But SXSW is about music discovery. It's about the opportunity to stumble upon artists like Mobley and Allen Stone; or hear BJ The Chicago Kid sing "Fair East Side High" in an alleyway; or dance your feet off to sets by DaleEarnheartJrJr, A-Trak and Questlove. To be fair, I don't ever really think standing around watching rappers with no musicians behind them "ride around and get it" is fun, but I certainly had no intention in doing so in Austin. This was Blitz The Ambassador's first SXSW. He was excited to participate in the African showcase because those are the artists he identifies as his peers but startled by the competition. "You're pretty much competing with Jay-Z for showcase time… and for me being my first time that made it a little challenging," he says. "[But I wanted] to really force the hand out here and let the people know that hip-hop music, pop music, soul music, there's a voice coming from the continent that needs to be heard." Well at least this one writer had the opportunity to hear him. Blitz now lives in the states. He's a super cool cat who through his own hard work, dedication and persistence has created a following that has allowed him to push over 100,000 units in Europe. He cites Nas and Rakim as his inspirations and his flow reflects it. In a word, he's dope. It sure would be cool if the self-anointed tastemakers and influencers would tell you about him next year. Because by the way, he was at SXSW too. Written by Leigh Davenport ,the Editorial Director of HelloBeautiful.com, Elev8.com and Giantlife.com.

Rapper DMX Sued For $630,000 Over Failed Comeback Tour Posted: 22 Mar 2012 06:05 AM PDT Rapper DMX is being sued for $630,000 by a booking agency which claims X's legal problems destroyed a lucrative international comeback tour According to TMZ ,the booking agency called Heavy rotation f filed the lawsuit in New York, claiming it struck an exclusive year-long deal with DMX in 2011 to book the rapper's concerts anywhere on the planet, but DMX was plagued with legal problems from the start a traffic violation in August, and two nasty child support disputes which led to a lien on the rapper's passport, preventing him from performing overseas. Heavy Rotation tried to fix the legal issues spending nearly a $100,000 to cover bail, child support, and a slew of other legal bills hoping it would clear the way for the tour, a task that included lifting the lien on X's passport. But HR claims its efforts were in vain because DMX continued to cause problems, hiring outside management that tried to book DMX on shows within the United States violating X's agreement with HR. On top of that, X couldn't resolve his passport issues and all concerts had to be canceled. X's manager Jason tells a different story claiming DMX chose to severe all ties with HR after it put the rapper at risk with some unsavory business practices. Still, HR claims it lost $749,285 on the deal gone bad and it wants the money back.

Tchidi Chikere Denies Impregnating Actress After Collapsed Marriage [Press Release] Posted: 22 Mar 2012 04:00 AM PDT Tchidi chikere Tchidi Chikere Responds to Malicious Report on true state of his marriagePress ReleaseOur attention has been drawn to a malicious report by a softsell magazine and selected blogs about our client, Tchidi Chikere on the state of his marriage and the reasons behind his decision to walk away from the nine-year union. In the said report, the soft sell publication claimed Tchidi has impregnated an actress, is currently living with the said actress and also planning to tie the knot with her by the end of the year. The report is at best laughable and absolutely untrue. So that truth will not be turned on its head and silence taken as admission of guilt, we wish to make the following points clear: 1. Nobody is pregnant for our client. We couldn't fathom that reporters who delight in fabricating falsehood in the name of gossip would go through this ridiculous and laughable route. Pregnancy is not something that can be hidden, and according to our findings, the said actress is presently on location with actor, Nkem Owoh in Enugu. Those who care to know the truth and are not interested in propaganda can go find out the true state of her 'pregnancy.' This is one accusation, given time, would prove true or false. 2.Tchidi Chikere is not getting married to anyone anytime soon. We cannot comprehend where the fabricating machine got such lies from, and the December date is just around the corner, so let's wait and see. 3. For those who care to know, Tchidi is not living with anyone – actress, actor or colleague. For avoidance of doubt, Tchidi has not been happy in the nine year old marriage and his family knows about it, Sophia's family knows about it, close friends and associates can also testify to this. Should we ask a man or woman to continue in perpetual state of unhappiness all in the name of saving face?
He has worked the marriage for the past nine years and has exhausted all means of peaceful co-existence with his wife. All thanks to Sophia. The decision to end the marriage has nothing to do with any woman and Sophia knows this herself. Otherwise she wouldn't have made promises to friends and family members to turn a new leaf. No matter the falsehood published after this, our client will not be joining issues with anyone or those who have chosen to pursue personal vendetta on the pages of newspaper. |
