Bobby Brown Arrested in L.A For Driving Under the Influence Posted: 26 Mar 2012 10:53 PM PDT R&B singer Bobby Brown ,the ex-husband of late singer whitney houston was arrested in Los Angeles on Monday on suspicion of driving under the influence. Brown, 43, was pulled over shortly after noon for talking on his cellphone while driving in the suburb of Reseda. Police suspected he had been drinking and he failed a sobriety test, said Los Angeles police Sgt. Mitzi Fierro. Brown was booked and briefly jailed before being released. The singer will likely face formal charges at a later date. | ||

36 Star Quest Finalists Emerge Posted: 26 Mar 2012 10:27 AM PDT 2011 star quest winner The Grand Auditions of the music talent hunt Star Quest held on March 23, 2012 at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island. The auditions featured 55 of the qualifiers from the regional auditions that took place in Makurdi, Enugu, Benin and Lagos. The Finalists from the grand auditions were selected by the panel of celebrity judges comprising KC of the KC Presh Fame, Waje and Paul 'Play' Dairo.The lucky 36 contestants to scale through to Fameland are: Eze Princess, Romeo Ugwudike, Afolayan Elizbeth, Aluebho Vivian, Igiehon Uyimwen, Apochi Oghenetega, Nwoke Amaka, Oboyi Naomi and Egedi Ewoma. Others are Aba Chris, Alfred Nkem, Edafe Suply Moore, Aghomishe Omuovakpo, Frederick Chijoke, Nnam Eziechina and Omotosho Oluwole. The last batch of contestants are Fatola Bamidele, Igwe Francis, Ogbujah Udonwa, Onibudo Daniel, Yusuf Isaac, Otti Chinemerem, Asuquo Michael, Akinola David, Wily Emmanuel, Okafor Chukwudi, Leramo Michael, Obamuwasa Olayemi, Inyang Edim, Ehigiator Omo, Aramogho Samuel, Alfred Ayokanmi, Ogbebor Stanley, Oghenakhogioe Osigbeme and Otevwogbiku Theophilus. The finalists will make their way into Star Fameland for 30 days where they will group themselves into six bands, comprising six members each. Each of the bands will be coached by top music professionals who will help them hone their skills.The winning band will walk home with scintillating prizes including a N7.5 million naira worth recording contract, N3.6 million, a brand new mini-van and one year accommodation in a choice location in Lagos. Chatta who was at the area around 8pm where movie pirates were selling pirated films including his own was beaten to a pulp. Chatta narrated the story to newsmen , "i was on my way to an event but because my partner couldn't see me, I parked my car and crossed the road on foot to call him where he was standing and suddenly, some guys just pounced on me. While beating me, they said I had the guts to arrest them for selling pirated movies. I cried that I wasn't after them, but they continued to beat me mercilessly. "It took the prompt intervention some mobile policemen on duty at Iyana-Ipaja to rescue me, they would have lynched me. It took some minutes before I regained consciousness after the beating."

But she is still a member of AGN and will continue to support the guild in her capacity. She recently enrolled some members of the guild for free training at her arts academy, and that will be a continuous effort from her, whether she is an AGN executive or not," the publicist stated. The AGN election which was supposed to hold march 17 in Ekiti has now been postponed to April 27 and 28 ,2012.
