Exactly Where To Locate The Finest College Netbooks

By Phillip Boyd

When you're purchasing the best college laptop, you need to think about what you need. I've experienced using both a Mac plus a PC/Windows and each of them have their positive qualities along with their negative.

When I have to do my writing or using spreadsheets, I prefer to be on a PC/Windows. I was raised with DOS then switched to Microsoft/Windows. I understand the programs like the backside of my hands and I complete my work rather quickly.

A Mac was introduced to me when i needed better streaming video and graphic abilities. I see a Mac being a lot more of what the future needs. Mac also can make it quicker to use with a lesser amount of keystrokes.

As you shop for a laptop for college this coming year, remember to tell the salesperson exactly what you need. Yes, you will need to work with a word program and would want to have a better media player, but you can save money by minimizing anything you really won't need. Will you need to use a CD/DVD burner? If you do not, speak with the salesman about installing the standard CD/DVD and then use the money you saved toward boosting up your GIG's. Do not want those extra programs? You know, the ones that are never used after you get the computer home. Speak with them about ways to swap it for additional RAM. Those are just some of the various approaches to build the best college laptop for yourself. Nobody but you is really going to use it (which is what you should do anyway). So why not have it the way you need it to be.

So, what really is the best college laptop? The one that was made for you and your needs, not one off the "showroom floor.
