Positive And Negative Aspects Of Hardcopy And Audio Books

"We all have unique learning abilities. Some read to learn. There are also those groups of people who learn when they are studying together. There are also some who learn through listening. And there are also people who use all these methods to learn. It is a mental process that makes certain groups of people unique from each other. But these medium of learning also have their own weaknesses and strengths. Psychologists have proven that people may find benefits in a certain thing while others may view it in the opposite way. So books have different views on the benefits that it can provide to the people.

These days, people have been debtating whether an Audio book is better than a hardcopy book or the other way around. But what do these terms mean? Understanding the basics is the key to help open ideas on why there are a lot of pros and cons that come with any form of learning material. Let's try to differentiate Audio Book from a Hardcopy Book.

AUDIO BOOKS

Pros

* They are available in any format - cassette tapes, CD or DVD.

* You can play them anytime you want. You have the option to do other things as you listen to it.

* Once you miss something, you can always play it again.

Cons

* Audio books can be sometimes tiring and sometimes you tend to hit fast-forward because you find some parts uninteresting.

* These are very sensitive and if there are slight scratches on it, the entire file can easily be ruined.

* You will not be able to highlight a specific part of the book or the lesson.

HARDCOPY BOOKS

Pros

* You can buy books anywhere - online or in stores in your neighborhood.

* You can read in between the lines when trying to understand the full text or what the book is telling you about.

* You can note down some important quotes, lines or thoughts in the book or highlight the important parts so you can go back to them easily when you need to.

Cons

* It is tiring to have to carry books around compared to handy tapes and compact discs.

* If you have still don't understand the entire text, you may need to read the entire book again to be able to comprehend.

* When you read for a few hours, your eyes get tired.

Whether one prefers audio books or hard copy books, the important thing is, one learns more knowledge and insights by reading or listening to somebody's written word.
