Men's Fashion - What You Need To Know About Looking Good

By Mark Walters

It seems as though men's fashion changes and becomes obsolete at rates matched only by computer technology. What is flashy and attractive one year is pass the next, sometimes sooner. There are some current men's fashion trends you should bear in mind if you're looking to remain stylish in an ever-changing fashion world.

Plaid is one fashion trend that simply refuses to go out of style. While other trends have come and gone, plaid is a mainstay that any man can wear confidently. It looks its best on a man during the autumn months, but it can attract attention all year long in a good way. Buttoned plaid shirts with long sleeves are great in the latter portion of the summer and the early stages of fall because the sleeves can be rolled up during daytime hours and let back down after the sun sets. Effective plaid color schemes are found in blue, gray, and beige.

What kind of pants go well with a plaid top? Currently, trends in men's fashion holds pants of pale tones in high regard. As the season wears on into fall and winter, khakis are hard to beat. As a matter of fact, they are ideal all year, as long as you are wearing season-appropriate shirts, of course. It is often said that whites need to return to the closet after Labor Day, but men's slacks are immune to that mindset with current men's fashion trends. Flat-front pants are preferable to pleated because they are more casual and therefore complement a greater number of outfit combinations.

It won't matter what kind of shirt and pants combination you choose, however, if you fail to wear the correct shoes. Loafers are still popular go-to footwear, but be careful to match them to the rest of the clothing. They always look good under casual shirts and slacks. If you are looking to be a little more comfortable, though, sneakers are thankfully in style. These shoes maintain a chic of their own the whole year round because they can handle anything your wardrobe can throw at them. Black leather styles do this especially well. And because they will likely enjoy being in style for years to come, you can obtain multiple years' wear from them.

When it comes to maintaining a contemporary wardrobe, casual and classy are interchangeable. Men don't have to break the bank to stay comfortable and chic. Current men's fashion trends simply require that you find clothing that is neither gaudy nor frumpy, leading to a stylish look.
