You Need To Have A Home Phone

By Brian Lakeman

These days, who does not try to knock a few dollars of their monthly expenses? In a world where everything seems to cost more than you have to choose the services you pay and who you very simply can not afford. Many people, due to the high cost of their monthly phone at home, choose to only use cell phones and live without a telephone at home, but honestly there are many reasons that this is not a good idea.

First of all, you definitely do not want to be interrupted everywhere that you go by all the phone calls that you receive on your home phone. This can be a distraction as you go through your daily activities and can be very annoying. Sure you can let them ring over to voice mail when needed but you will still be looking at your phone constantly.

Secondly, if you use only a cell phone around the house than this might work for you but there are probably other members of your household that will want to make and receive calls also while at home and they won't be able to if you have the phone in your pocket. This can be an annoyance when you are trying to get things done and can also lead to the cell phone being misplaced around the house.

Thirdly, most cell phone companies charge a lot for minutes and these can add up. Even the cost of an unlimited cell phone plan will cost you quite a bit and over time these additional charges can really add up. For most people it is not cost effective to replace their home phone with a cell phone.

If you want to cut home phone costs, only utilizing your cell phone is probably not the answer you're looking for. A far wiser investment is to buy a VoIP phone service that allows you to call all you want for one low monthly fee. Voice over IP offers customers all the advantages of having a home phone, but none of the headaches and allows you to reduce your monthly expenses without sacrificing service to your home. It is the answer for those looking to reduce costs and maintain a home phone for regular daily use.
