Darey,J'odie,Goldie lead 2011 Nigerian Music video awards Nominations

      The  nominees list for the 2011Nigerian Music Video Awards has been released .Topping the awards list this year  are  Darey and J'odie with four nominations each ,followed closely by Goldie and Freestyle with three nominations. Other great contenders are Omawumi, Sammie Okposo, Dipp, T.I.V and Tipsy who all have two nominations .
    For the first time since its inception, NMVA has included Best Southern Africa Video and Best Western Africa Video as new categories in this year's award.
      Aside recognizing new artistes who are doing extremely well in their chosen careers, the awards is also recognizing the efforts of incredible new music video directors. Nominated alongside Clarence Peters this year in the Best Cinematography category are Nodash and      Tokah for their ingenious directing on No Be Dada and Kuchi Kuchi respectively. They were also nominated alongside Patrick Elis in the Most Promising Video Director category. The NMVA has established that artistes and video directors as well as producers can share glory side by side on the same stage as witnessed at the previous successful editions.

Lots of plans are already in the pipeline as preparations for the fifth consecutive edition of the awards heats up. Expectations are also very high in every sector of the entertainment industry as to what to expect in this year's event that is fast positioning as the most credible, most respected and most attractive out of Africa.
 
The awards organizers re-instated their commitment to transparency and as such are weary of all lobbyists warming them to stay at bay as only good videos will be duly rewarded.
To lend credence to the theme of this year's event, the Federal Ministry of Tourism has endorsed the project as a viable national brand deserving all institutional and corporate sponsorship

Afro-Australian Movie " Gossip Nation" arrives Nigerian cinemas

    Afro- Australian movie Gossip nation is set to premiere in Nigerian cinemas . The movie starring Glo Ambassador Monalisa Chinda and former president of the Actors' Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ejike Asiegbu, will hits Nigerian cinemas come 28 October,2011.
    Gossip Nation was filmed on locations in Australia and was premiered in major Aussie cities like Melbourne , Canberra and Bankstown .It was also the first Afro-Australian movie to premier in Hoyts cinema(A major Australian cinema)
     Described by the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) as one of the best Nigerian movies ever reviewed by the board, Gossip Nation, within the short time of its release, has also bagged four nominations at the Afro-Australian Music and Video Awards billed for Australia this year. 
Gossip nation is written and produced by Daniel Okoduwa and directed by Mike Kang

    Comedienne,actress and  TV presenter ,helen paul a.k.a Tatafo has given birth to a bouncing babyboy.Helen gave birth to the baby yesterday. She was married to her husband femi bamisile last year .Helen recently starred in funke akindele's blockbuster , the return of Jenifa .

Micheal jackson tops the list of top-earning dead celebrities

     Michael Jackson was named this year's top-earning dead celebrity on Tuesday in a list compiled by financial website Forbes.com, earning the title for the second year in a row following his death in 2009.

    "Thriller" singer Jackson, who died aged 50 of a drug overdose, is estimated to have earned $170 million in the past year, which also places him as the second highest-earning pop music act this year, dead or alive, Forbes.com said.
The Top-Earning Dead Celebrities list by Forbes takes into account any deceased famous figure who has earned at least $6 million between October 2010 and October 2011.
