Hollywood legend,Denzel washington returns in Safe House trailer

   Universal Pictures has released the trailer for the action thriller "Safe House" starring Denzel Washington, Ryan Reynolds, Vera Farmiga, and Brendan Gleeson.
    Safe House is a new action-thriller starring Denzel Washington as a rogue CIA agent under house arrest who must escape with his rookie guardian, played Ryan Reynolds , when their compound comes under attack. 
It was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa earlier this year.Jay Z and Kanye west's frank ocean assisted song No church in the wild was used in the trailer.See trailer below

Del York international takes Nollywood Film festival to Brazil

      Film school, Del-York International, is teaming up with Kinopedia Ltd and Brazil's cultural department, Departamento de Expansão Cultural da Secretaria de Cultura, Prefeitura de São Paulo to host "Bem-vindo a Nollywood", the first Nollywood film festival in South America from November 18 –27, 2011. 
       This milestone will be held at the Cine Olido in São Paulo, which will host a roundtable discussion featuring some of Nollywood's most respected practitioners as well as showcase a retrospective of nine films by the award-winning director Tunde Kelani.  
      Since the festival marks the beginning of a multi-year cultural exchange with the government of Brazil, Del-York aims to inaugurate the partnership by celebrating the Yoruba heritage and traditions shared by both nations and will showcase Kelani'swork including "Saworoide" (1999), "Abeni" (2002) and his highly successful and popular "Thunderbolt: Magun" (2001).
    Over the past two years, Del-York International has partnered with the prestigious New York Film Academy (NYFA) to facilitate a series of capacity.  Building programme in media production in Nigeria.      
After the latest edition concluded on 10th September 2011 in Lagos, a total of  650 Nigerian students received world class instruction from 60 instructors  from NYFA's New-York and Los Angeles campuses.     

How NDLEA pumped water into my anus to make me excrete – Baba Suwe

Nollywood comic actor, Baba suwe was freed yesterday following Justice Yetunde Idowu's intervention and ordering the NDLEA to release him on bail.
When Baba suwe  was explaining his ordeal to the justice , He mentioned how NDLEA officials took him to an undisclosed hospital 
  
He says;

The day after I was granted bail (Wednesday), they just came at about 9 am and took me to a hospital in Victoria Island. When we got to the hospital, they put something in my mouth and another in my anus."They now pumped water into my anus. After they pumped water into my anus I started defecating."I defecated again several times on getting to their office."
   His testimony was corroborated by an official of the NDLEA said to be part of the team that took him to the hospital.The official, who was called out by Justice Idowu, said the tests were ordered by an assistant commander in the agency and were conducted in one of NDLEA's hospitals.Asked  for the result of the tests, the official said only the doctor who conducted them could say what he found on Omidina.
  The actor is however to appear before the NDLEA at its MMA office on November 11. Justice Idowu reserved judgment in the N100m suit till November 24, this year.
      Shortly after he regained his freedom, he was flown away to Kano for hibernation, a reliable family source told newsmen.

Oga Bello, Eucharia Anunobi ,others for LIFF Lifetime Achievement Awards

      Leap International Film Festival LIFF will hold this year's festival at the Cinema Hall of Binez Hotels, Aba, Abia state on December 7,2011. At this year's  festival , Lifetime Achievement awards will be given out to Nollywood veterans
       
      Nollywood Veterans,Otunba Adebayo Salami (Oga bello), actress Eucharia Anunobi, Mr Solomon Eze,Prince  Ossy Affason,Ace Cinematographer Steve Enahoro, and business mogul Dr Henry Orayelu are on the nominees list for LIFF Lifetime Achievement Awards as disclosed by the organizers of the prestigous film festival.
      Another nominee is a marketer /producer Mr Azubuike Udensi who died last week in a ghastly auto-crash on Benin Ore road will also  be given a post humous award 
          
      Oga Bello is being recognized for literally being the last man standing. He successfully transited from the Yoruba travelling theatre to the celluloid era of the seventies remaining a major factor in present day Nollywood while Actress Eucharia Anunobi is  recognized for being the epitome of towering achievements in the thespian art. From her debut in "Nneka the Pretty Serpent", through "Glamour Girls" she has captivated audiences around the globe.
