Court orders NDLEA to pay Baba Suwe N25M compensation Posted: 24 Nov 2011 03:41 AM PST Justice Yetunde Idowu of the Ikeja High Court, Thursday, has ordered the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, to pay Nigerian comedy actor, Babatunde Omidina, Popularly known as Baba Suwe, N25 million as compensation for unlawful detention and breach of right. Baba Suwe who was granted bail November 4, had gone to court to seek redress over an alleged suspicion of ingesting substances believed to be hard drug and detention in the custody of NDLEA for 24 days. Justice Yetunde Idowu also asked the NDLEA to apologize publicly through two national dailies within 21 days for unlawful detention and breach of right comedian |

G.I. Joe 2' Crew Member Mike huber dies On Set Posted: 24 Nov 2011 01:01 AM PST The set of "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" was the latest to be struck by tragedy, when a crew member died following an accident during the New Orleans production. Crew member Mike Huber was tearing down the set Tuesday when the scissor lift he was working on tipped, leading to fatal injuries. Paramount issued the following statement to The Hollywood Reporter: "Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the Huber family at this time." Paramount said the safety of its cast and crew is a top priority and it is "fully cooperating with all investigating agencies as they examine the circumstances surrounding this unusual accident." This marks the second recent on-set accident leading to the death of a crew member. In late October, one stuntman was killed and another was seriously injured on the Bulgarian set of the sequel to "The Expendables Paramount will release G.I. Joe 2 on June 29; it follows G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, a hit in 2009. |
