     Yesterday,December 4,2011 MTV2  capped  a monthlong celebration of hip-hop history month with the inaugural Sucker Free Awards. The show took  place at the historic LIV Fontainebleau in Miami Beach and will feature a special performance from YMCMB.The Sucker Free Awards honoured the year in hip-hop with a unique look back at the music, moments and personalities that made 2011 so memorable.

Adele's "21" album becomes top UK album of 21st century

    Singer Adele notched a new record Monday, when the Official Charts Company (OCC) confirmed that her second album "21" had become the biggest seller in Britain this century.
    The record, which looks set to be the world's most successful album of 2011, has passed sales of 3.4 million copies, eclipsing the late Amy Winehouse's 2006 LP "Back To Black" which has sold 3.3 million.
According to the OCC, 21 has never left the British top 10 since its release in January, and Sunday clocked its 45th week in the upper end of the rankings, rising to No. 5 from ninth.
 Adele got six Grammy nominations, including album of the year for 21 as well as record of the year and song of the year for "Rolling in the Deep."
   The 23-year-old was forced to cancel a string of live dates and award show appearances when she underwent surgery in Boston last month to treat a benign polyp on her vocal cords.

Wizkid to headline FAB Night out

    Organizers of the annual FAB night out have announced an exciting list of artistes who will be thrilling guests and delivering series of remarkable performances at the upcoming event. 
   WizKid, Praiz, Sound Sultan, Brymo, Yemi Alade and Zaina are billed to perform at the second edition of FAB night out alongside. Comedians Steve Onu (Yaw) and Ushbebe.

    The all color, all gloss international fashion and lifestyle publication has also teamed up with Vlisco, Zapphire, Pattaya and Bacardi to bring fashion lovers an unprecedented night of fun and festivity. Celebrities from the world of fashion, music and entertainment, drawn from all over Africa and several fashion cities in the world, will head to Lagos to be part of a star-studded black-carpet event holding at The Landmark Village, Victoria Island on Sunday December 11
    Familusi Akin Babajide, publisher of the magazine tells us that aside WizKid, Sound Sultan, Brymo, Praiz and Yemi Alade  who freed up their tight schedules to thrill guests at FAB Night Out, two reputable style icons Ebuka Obi Uchendu and Jumai Shaba have been chosen to anchor this year's show

"We are doing all we can to make sure that this show is one you won't forget in a hurry" he says. "This will be the fashion show of the year"he promises

The main dish of the night, however, is the FAB fashion show, showcasing exclusive designs from emerging and established fashion icons like Phunk Afrique by Funke Ogunde, Vonne by Yvonne Nwosu, Orange culture by Adebayo Oke Lawal and Mimi Lee London by Mimi Hassan.

   He continues "That is not all; we will be giving out plaques to recognize the most fabulous lifestyle brands in the country". Already, 130 names were announced at the nominee's party held on October 23, 2011.

   FAB Night out debuted in 2010 as a platform to recognize and celebrate talents with the best offering every calendar year with a total of twenty six award plaques to reward deserving talents.  This year's event will hold at Landmark Village Oniru Estate Victoria Island from 7PM .The event is produced by FAB Magazine, and supported by  Vlisco, Trace TV, Beat FM, Pattaya Oriental, Zapphaire Events and Barcadi.

Lionel Messi, Xavi and Cristiano Ronaldo up for Fifa Ballon d'Or

     The contenders for this year's FIFA Ballon d'Or Award for the best player of 2011 were announced today at a press conference held at the headquarters of France Football magazine in Paris .Lionel Messi(Argentina), Xavi (spain)and Cristiano Ronaldo(portugal)  are the contenders for this year's Ballon d'Or Award
  
     Messi who won the inaugural award last year after Fifa's world player of the year crown and France Football's Ballon d'Or prize merged is once again the favourite after another stunning season at Barcelona in which he scored 53 goals.
      Alex Ferguson (Scotland), Josep Guardiola (Spain) and José Mourinho (Portugal) were also nominated for the FIFA World Coach of the Year for Men's Football award.


   All the awards will be presented at the FIFA Ballon d'Or, which will be held at the Kongresshaus in Zurich, FIFA's home city, on 9 January 2012. 
  The gala, formerly known as the "FIFA World Player of the Year Gala", has been in existence since 1991. Last year it underwent a significant change when it merged with France Football's Ballon d'Or award to form the new "FIFA Ballon d'Or".

     The Ministry of Youth Development has unveiled plans to ensure that cases of sexual abuses and other violence against Nigerian young women are tackled to ensure human dignity. 
     As a strategic bait of hooking the youths to the moral thrust of the campaign, scintillating slogans like, Rape a Woman and Kiss Goodbye to Greatness; Let's Wage War against Rape'; 'Real Men Don't Rape; The Federal Ministry of Youth Development Warns Against All Forms of Violence against Young Women; I swear I Can Never Rape a Woman; and Rapists Are Monsters and I am Not a Monster,have been introduced  .
   
   Nigerian rapper Naeto C  and Kevin pam (BBA winner)  have also been appointed  by the Hon Minister Of Youth ,Mallam bolaji Abdulahi,as  the Spokespersons and the Ambassadors for the Nigerian Youth & the Rape Challenge and they will be unveiled today  at the ladi kwali hall, Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.

Angelina Jolie sued for stealing story behind her new movie

    Hollywood actress ,Angelina jolie is being sued for allegedly stealing the story behind her directorial debut ,in the land of blood and honey.
      In legal documents filed in federal court obtained by Radaronline , Croatian journalist and author James J. Braddock says an article he wrote and published in 2007 is the basis for the film, which was written and directed by Jolie.
        The film is a fictionalized account of an unlikely love story between a Serbian soldier and a Muslim woman during the Bosnian War.
He's demanding a jury trial asking the court to award him damages.

The movie will be in theaters December 23,2011
