Adele declared Billboard's Top Artiste of 2011 , Lil Wayne is top Male

    Billboard has declared  British singer Adele No. 1 artist of 2011. Rihanna was No. 2, followed by Katy perry, Lady gaga and Lil Wayne respectively . The list, announced Friday, takes into account album sales, charting singles, radio airplay and other factors.
   Rounding out the list was Bruno Mars at No. 6, Nicki Minaj at No. 7, Taylor Swift at No. 8, Justin bieber at No. 9 and Chris brown at No. 10.
  Adele's album "21" was the best-selling of the year with 4.8 million sold. Following "21" on the list: Swift's "Speak Now," Gaga's "Born This Way," Jason Aldean's "My Kinda Party" and Susan Boyle's "The Gift."
    Adele was the top female artist. Lil Wayne was the top male.

Nollywood actress,Chika Ike survives Ghastly Motor Accident

     Nollywood  star actress, Chika Ike, has cheated death as she recently survived a ghastly car accident that would have claimed her life.
   According to PMNEWS ,The actress was said to be returning from a movie location with her driver when her wine colour 2010 Honda CRV car crashed and damaged beyond repairs.
    The actress said,"I can't explain how I escaped unhurt because everybody that came to the accident scene could not believe the occupants of the vehicle survived. I just thank God for the grace."

   Chinedu"Aki" Ikedieze and Nneoma Nwaijah got married today at a secret white wedding  in Lagos .Osita Iheme known as Pawpaw was the bestman .The traditional wedding held in Mbano  Imo state Last month.

American stars, SWV and Mignight Star Visit Project Fame Contestants

   There was a pleasant surprise at the PFWA academy as SWV also known as "Sisters With Voices", American female R&B trio from New York and American old time Musical band, Midnight Star stopped by the Project Fame Academy to see the final contestants while they were rehearsing at Ultima Studios, Lekki, Lagos.
Sisters with Voices, better known as SWV which includes Cheryl Gamble, Tamara Johnson and Leanne Lyons (the group's founder) came together in 1990 as a gospel group, SWV were one of the most successful R&B groups of the 1990s. They had a series of hits, including "Weak", "Right Here/Human Nature", "I'm So Into You", and You're the One".
Midnight Star, the R&B band was formed in 1976 at Kentucky State University by trumpeter Reggie Calloway, vocalist Belinda Lipscomb, guitarist/vocalist Melvin Gentry, bassist Kenneth Gant, multi-instrumentalist Bill Simmons, keyboard player/vocalist Bo Watson and guitarist/keyboardist Jeff Cooper, as a self-contained group. They achieved their biggest success in the UK with "Midas Touch" and "Headlines" in 1986 among other hits in the 80's.
SWV and Midnight Star had a nice time meeting the contestants and watching them rehearse. Uncle Ben also took to the stage and performed "Midas Touch" by Midnight Star among other African Songs to thrill the special guests.

    They were obviously very impressed with the reception they got as they took turns to encourage the contestants, advising them to put in their best in their forthcoming performances and also in their music careers in the nearest future.

Shan George and Freeze to host Nigerian Broadcasters Awards

     Nollywood actress, Shan George and radio personality, Freeze, have been billed to host tomorrow's Nigerian Broadcasters' Awards scheduled to hold at the Lagoon Restaurant, Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
   Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola and his Oyo State counterpart, Governor Abiola Ajimobi have been pencilled down alongside Walter Oyatogun, Toyin Subair, Lekan Ogunbanwo, Mrs Biola Alabi, Benson Idonije and Amaka Igwe, for Special Recognition Awards. 

   Among the lined-up programmes that will add glitz and glamour to the event includes, red carpet reception, live studio broadcast, command performances from top rated music stars and humour merchants and other side attractions.
