Monica Emerges MTN Project Fame Season 4 Winner

    It was to everyone's delight that the 22 year old was announced winner of  2.5 million naira, a fully loaded Toyota RAV 4 jeep and a recording deal worth millions of naira.
The competition which has kept viewers glued to their TV set for 10 weeks was down to six finalists - Ethel, Ruth, Yvonne, Roy, Ese and Monica came down to its final four this weekend, Sunday, December 18, 2011.

     Monica emerged winner and went home with the grand prize while Roy, the last man standing came out as the first runner up (1.5 million naira and a fully loaded Toyota Corolla car). Ese was the second runner up and went away with 1 million naira and a fully loaded Toyota Yaris and Ghanaian Ethel was the third runner up (one million naira).
The final contestants also known as the "Sensational Six" presented two performances each during the show. They performed one of the memorable songs they had done earlier in the competition as well as their personal compositions.
Their music videos were premiered and sync ed with their stage performances.
Monica stood out as she sang 2face Idibia's "Only me" and her own personal composition "Na You".
      The event was well attended by the cream-de-la-cream in the society and also had surprise guest performances by International R&B group, Dru Hill who thrilled the crowd with amazing songs from their old time album. Award-winning rave of the moment, Wizkid was also at the show and he pulled the house down with an exciting performance. Winner of MTN Project Fame West Africa season 3, Chidinma who launched her first album titled "Chidinma" on Saturday, December 17, 2011 on the Project Fame stage, also performed at the grand finale.


    Notable faces at the event include Member of the Federal House of Representatives, Honorable Abike Dabiri who presented Monica with her prize, Mr Bola Akingbade (C.M.O, MTN Nigeria), Veteran Actor, Chief Olu Jacobs, international artiste, Leanne Lyons from R&B group, SWV(Sisters with Voices), Ayo Animashaun, Saint Obi, Omobaba among other guests.

Jailed Vybz Kartel Ordered To Pay $15 Million For Missed Concert Appearance

       The Supreme Court has ordered a default judgement of roughly $15 million against jailed Jamaican star Vybz Kartel in relation to him failing to honor an agreement to perform in the Turks and Caicos Islands in 2009.
  
    Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, was ordered by the Supreme Court to pay Jamaican promoter Alton Salmon for breach of contract. Salmon, who promotes under Abuka Entertainment, said that there was a riot at the venue on August 14, 2009 after Kartel failed to appear and suffered significant losses.
   The popular artist had been in custody since October 1 after being charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and illegal possession of a firearm following the deaths of Clive 'Lizard' Williams in August and Gregory Park in July. 



AKon Signs 2face,Wizkid and P Square to His Konvict Music?

    Senegalese American superstar Akon was in Lagos last Night for the Launching of the new energy drink Citron, and the news going around now that he has signed Nigerian Music stars , 2face idibia, Wizkid and P Square to his Konvict Music Label. 
   It's not confirmed  for now because they are not yet listed on Konvict Music website and Akon or the artistes are yet to make formal announcement. Though he tweeted




     Faze was reportedly signed to Akon's Konvict few years ago  and met akon in Ghana at a concert where Akon publicly announced him as his new artiste but later denied the fact that they signed any deal.

Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa files for divorce, ending 10-year marriage

   Kobe Bryant's wife is pulling the plug on her 10 ½-year marriage to the L.A. Lakers star 
  Vanessa Bryant filed for divorce in Orange County, Calif., on Friday citing "irreconcilable differences." The beautiful brunette stuck by Bryant after he admitted to a 2003 sexual encounter with a Colorado concierge who accused him of rape.
But Vanessa decided to end the union this month over another allegation of infidelity, TMZ.com reported.
    "She's been dealing with these incidents for a long time and has been a faithful wife, but she's finally had enough," an unnamed source told TMZ. "This one is the straw that broke the camel's back."
The splitting spouses released a joint statement saying they had resolved all issues privately and expected a full divorce sometime next year.The couple has No prenup, so 29-year-old Vanessa is entitled to half of the empire Kobe built over the last decade.

    She's also requesting spousal support ,which is typical in divorce cases.  Kobe, who filed his response to the divorce minutes after Vanessa filed her petition, says he will pay her spousal support. 
   kobe has already moved out of his MASSIVE Newport Coast mansion permanently  because  Vanessa gets the estate in the couple's divorce. 

Kim Kardashian Named 'Most Ill-Mannered Person Of 2011'

   Kim Kardashian's 72-day marriage that many are saying was all a publicity stunt, has earned her the title of the "Most Ill-Mannered Person of 2011."

   The reality star received the  distinction from the National League of Junior Cotillions"for making a private matter public and disrespecting the institution of marriage."
While Kim was found to be the most ill-mannered, Kate Middleton was awarded the title of Best-Mannered Person of 2011 "for the poise and dignity with which she conducts herself in the public spotlight."
   "The annual selections are based on the demonstration of dignity, honor, and respect," said Elizabeth Anne Winters, NLJC National Director.

High honors also went to Justin Bieber, who took second place for "consistently showing courtesy to his fans."
  Paula Abdul rounded out the top trio, lauded for her "encouragement to aspiring entertainers."
