GUS 8 has come to an end .The Last six contestants were Kelvin Durst, Anthony Igwe, Tony Horsfall, Christopher okagbue, Fejiro Ejogbamu and Anastasia Azike, who is the last female contestant standing.

The final four

Tony and Fejiro were evicted leaving the final four .Christopher Okagbue emerged the winner and walked away with N7M ,a brand new SUV and N500,000 wardrobe allowance for one year.Anastasia will automatically get N1M for being the last girl standing.

The organizers of the annual Star Mega Jam have disclosed the issue of frequent bombings and violence by Boko haram was the main reason for cancelling this year's Star Mega Jam ,Multiple sources said over the weekend .

A letter from the United States Embassy in Nigeria was issued to American A-list artistes urging them to avoid performances in Nigeria because of the dangerous and unpredictable security situation which got to NBL .Lagos state goverment was also not ready to provide adequate security.
"If President Goodluck Jonathan cancelled Nigeria's yearly Independence parade because of Boko Haram, NBL would have been stupid to have gone ahead with Star Mega Jam," NBL source said.
The Nigerian breweries corporate affairs adviser,Yusuf Egeni had earlier released a statement that reads;

The annual Music concert,star mega jam will not take place this year , The company regrets all inconveniences this will cause the fans who have been eagerly awaiting this year's edition of star mega jam

P. Diddy had been targeted to headline this year's Star Mega Jam.

CNN international recently made a list on Africa's ten biggest music stars. The list was determined by fame ,fanbase , number of concerts the artistes have performed across the world .Nigerian Music stars Asa ,Nneka and 2face were listed first ,third and fourth respectively . Others on the list include Somalia born rapper Knaan, Senegalese's Youssou N'Dour, Ghana's Rocky Dawuni. See the full list below

In an interview with Vanguard at the wedding ceremony, The father of chinedu"Aki" Ikedieze's wife,Mr lawrence Nwajah disclosed how her daughter met Aki and his reaction.See Excerpts below
How did your daughter break the news of her getting married to Aki?

Nneoma graduated from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology(ESUT). She did her National Youth Service, here in Lagos, and this is where she met Aki.
I remember that during one of her visits to the village, she hinted her mother that she had found her husband. As a mother, she encouraged her to break the news to me. And when she finally did, I welcomed the idea, because I married my wife without anybody's interference.
I only said to her, 'You have come of age, and I cannot choose a husband for you. Since you have found the man you want to marry, go ahead and marry the person. You will have my blessing.' Later, I inquired to know who the lucky man was, and she mentioned Aki. I told her plainly,' I have no problem with him'.

The first time you saw Chinedu, did you feel disappointed?

Not at all, Chinedu decided to marry my daughter and she accepted the proposal. Who am I to oppose the marriage? I never said Chinedu should not enter my compound, just as his father never said his son will not marry my daughter. We are all here today, to give them our blessings.

Bobby Brown's Dad Dies of Cancer at 82

American R&b singer and songwriter ,and whitney houston's ex-husband ,bobby brown has lost his father'Herbert Brown ' to cancer .Bobby Brown's dad passed away yesterday after a long bout with cancer ... sources close to the family tell TMZ.
Herbert Brown known affectionately as Pop had been ill of quite a while. He was 82.
