Nneka To Tour US and Canada

   Nigerian Soul Singer Nneka Egbuna is ready to tour African countries ,United states and Canada .
   She will perform in four african countries-Kenya,Rwanda,Uganda,Tanzania between February 4 and 11 before heading to perform in  vancouver ,canada, March 6. 
   Nneka will continue the tour in the states -Seattle,Portland,San Francisco ,West Hollywood and houston on march 7,8,10,11and 18 respectively.
      Nneka released her third studio album 'Soul is Heavy' last september .

David Oyelowo,Van Vicker,Jimmy Jean Louis to Receive Achievement Awards at PAN African Film Festival

      Nigerian-British actor David Oyelowo,Nollywood-Ghallywood actor Van vicker and Haitan actor Jimmy Jean Louis will receive achievement awards at the 20th edition of PAN African Film Festival in Los Angeles.
 The event will take place on friday ,February 10,2012 at the Rave Cinemas Baldwin Hills,Baldwin hills Crenshaw Plaza , Los Angeles .
    David Oyelowo whose movie credits include Boxoffice hit The Help,The rise of the planet of the apes and recently released Red Tails (also starred American singer Neyo) will receive Canada Lee Rising star Actor award, Van vicker who is referred to as one of africa's hottest movie stars will receive 'The Africa Channel creative achievement Award', while Jimmy Jean Louis will receive The Africa channel Diasporan Award.

   Other recipients are hollywood actress Meagan Good for Beach Richards rising star actress award ,and Rwanda's Eric Kabera for African channel Visionary Award . Award winning actress Loretta Devine will be given a Lifetime Achievement award  .

     PAN African Film and Arts Festival founded in 1992 by award-winning actor Danny Glover is America's largest and most prestigous Black Film and arts festival which honors world-renowned actors,filmmakers,community leaders,and fine artists for their contributions on stage,television,film and arts.

Soul Train Creator 'Don Cornelius' Dead at 75 of Apparent Suicide

 "Soul Train" creator Don Cornelius was found dead at his Sherman Oaks on home this  morning.
   Law enforcement sources said police arrived at Cornelius' home around 4 a.m. He apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to sources.The sources said there was no sign of foul play, but the Los Angeles Police Department was investigating. 
   He is best known as the creator of the nationally syndicated dance/music franchise Soul Train, which he hosted from 1971-1993. 
     According to a LA Times article, Cornelius' "Soul Train" became the longest-running first-run nationally syndicated show in television history, bringing African American music and style to the world for 35 years.
   Cornelius stopped hosting the show in 1993, and "Soul Train" ceased production in 2006.He sold the show to MadVision Entertainment in 2008. He was 75.

BET bans Nicki Minaj's 'Stupid Hoe' Video

  YMCMB rapper Nicki Minaj's latest video Stupid Hoe has been banned from BET Network. A representative of the Network told TMZ that BET will not be broadcasting the video .The video directed by renowned director,Hype williams is no doubt too explicit for TV and the song contains lewd  lyrics.

  Nicki debuted the video online on january 20 to avoid tampering with the video,she said
 "Can't premiere on a network b/c its important that my art is not tampered with, or compromised prior to you viewing it for the 1st time"

The video has received over 20 Million Youtube views since.

Actor Sean Penn named Ambassador at Large for Haiti

 Actor Sean Penn has been named ambassador at large for Haiti in recognition of his humanitarian work since the 2010 earthquake.The Hollywood star received the honor from Haitiian President Michel Martelly at a special ceremony Tuesday evening at the National Palace.
  Martelly thanked Penn for keeping the spotlight on the Caribbean nation.The president joked that the "only downside" to Penn's new position is that he can no longer call the actor by his first name. Now Penn will be called "Ambassador."
 Penn's J/P Haitian Relief Organization was set up a few months after the Jan. 12, 2010, earthquake to oversee a settlement camp where thousands of people displaced by the disaster lived.

Nollywood-Ghallywood Actor Kofi Adjorlolo accused of Attempted Rape on Movie Set

        Nollywood-Ghallywood star actor,Kofi adjorlolo has been accused of attempted rape on a movie set .The Veteran actor is said to have left during the shoot of a NAFTI movie project called ''Heavenly Realms''.
   
    According to Ghanaian sources , the executive producer of the movie, Albert Kyei Barfuor said he was  informed by an actress named Gifty Temeng that while they spent one of their nights in their various rooms while shooting the movie, Kofi Adjorlolo came to her room to sleep there which made her uncomfortable. 
    Kofi went naked and tried to have sex with her but the lady refused him .It was because of the humiliation that would come after he had been reported by Gifty that caused him to leave the set, the producer had said.
    The Lady involved said in a seperate chat "Kofi Adjorlolo came to beg me to sleep in my room and i wasn't comfortable with his movement, but i have never told the executive producer that Kofi tried to rape or sleep with me".
    
    The case has been reported to FIPAG (Film Producer Association of Ghana) for misconduct and Kofi has been asked to respond to the issue.
   The renowned actor and two other movie stars ,Yvonne nelson and Ekow Smith Asante were banned last year by FIPAG for going against the rules of the movie industry.The were later forgiven .
