| Gulder Ultimate search season VIII begins September 17, finalists emerge Posted: 09 Sep 2011 07:38 AM PDT  In the beginning, over 26,000 individuals from the nooks and crannies of Nigeria applied to partake in Gulder Ultimate Search VIII, the Contest of Champions. After rigourous and painstaking physical selection exercises which held in locations in Abuja, Benin, Owerri and Lagos, the thousands of applicants that applied for the reality TV show have were pruned to 60. The 60 applicants were then taken through professional psychological test to ascertain the depth of their mental alertness, level of creativity, impulse, temperament, preparedness and patience for the jungle life. 15 of them failed to meet with the required standards and were dropped. Tonight at the Eko hotels ,Victoria island ,lagos the 45 remaining applicants will know their fate as another 15 will be asked to go home, while the final 30 contestants will proceed to the jungle. The winner of this year's edition will go home with N7 million, a brand new SUV worth N10 million and N500, 000 wardrobe allowance.  |
| 50 Cent’s “Things Fall Apart” gets title Change to avoid collision with Chinua achebe's Posted: 09 Sep 2011 07:02 AM PDT  Curtis "50cent" Jackson's new movie title has been changed from "things fall apart' to "All things fall apart" . The change was made by the company distributing the film Image Entertainment to simply avoid any form of clash with professor chinua achebe's well known piece of literature "Things fall apart". Things fall apart is a story of star college football player battling cancer starring 50 cent and directed by mario van peebles . The movie has just been added to the 15th Annual Urbanworld Film Festival, presented by BET Networks . The film joins a diverse slate of nearly 60 films that will be featured at the New York-based festival from September 14-18, 2011 at AMC 34th Street in midtown Manhattan. | Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan makes his debut in Hollywood Posted: 09 Sep 2011 05:43 AM PDT  Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan is making his Hollywood debut in a new film adaptation of The Great Gatsby, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, according to the producer Warner Brothers. The $126m film directed by Baz Luhrmann has begun shooting in Australia.Bachchan will play Meyer Wolfsheim, a Jewish man described as a gambler in F Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel.Bachchan has acted in more than 180 Indian films over a 40-year period. He remains Indian's most popular actor. |

| Ten artistes to perform at ten cities for MTN at 10 anniversary concerts Posted: 09 Sep 2011 12:10 AM PDT  MTN at 10 anniversary concerts kick off at the Aminu Isa Kontagora Complex, Makurdi, Benue State today September 9, 2011 .The concerts continue at enugu on Sunday sept.11 at Nnamdi azikwe indoor sport hall,cultural centre calabar next Friday while Civic center, Port Harcourt plays the host on 18th september. The concerts move to Ilorin on 23rd sept. at romeich hall , Abuja on 25th sept at BMO Arena,, Owerri on 30th sept. at Aladina hall, Benin on 3rd oct. at cultural centre, Ibadan on 7th Oct. at Jogor centre The grand finale concert will hold on 14th Oct. at Harbour point , Lagos.  |
