The BeatFM has issued a press release on their facebook page regarding the altercation between the program director Olisa Adibua and news editor,Adewunmi Oyekanmi, read it below

The attention of the management of THE BEAT 99.9FM has been drawn to widespread online and social media reports, regarding an unfortunate incident that occurred between two members of our staff on THE BEAT FM 99.9 FM premises in the early hours of Thursday September 8, 2011.

The management team can confirm that there was an altercation between our Programmes Director Olisa Adibua and our editor Adewunmi Oyekanmi. We are fully investigating the incident and have placed Olisa Adibua on a four-week suspension as a precautionary measure while he cooperates fully with the investigation. Adewunmi Oyekanmi is also assisting us with the investigation.

As a responsible organisation, the management of THE BEAT 99.9FM condemns any form of violence, assault and abuse, and, will not condone any such act by ANY member of staff.

The BEAT of Lagos event that occurred on the 9th of September, in which Olisa co-hosted with our other BEAT 99.9 presenters, was a jointly staged event with a partner. This partner was made aware of the situation and still requested that we honour the existing contract with his firm which stated that all presenters, including Olisa Adibua, be present at the event.

We assure our listeners, friends, partners and all concerned parties that decisive actions will be taken, and enforced. The management of the BEAT 99.9FM is already putting in place measures to prevent a repeat of such an unfortunate incident.

A hefty eight singles debut on the Billboard hot 100 from Lil Wayne's new album "Tha Carter IV," which, rockets onto the Billboard 200 at No. 1 with 964,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"Mirror," featuring Bruno Mars, leads the way at No. 16, entering Hot Digital Songs at No. 6 with 149,000 downloads sold.

As three of his titles previously on the Hot 100 join his eight newcomers, Weezy places 11 songs total on this week's billboard chart, tying David Cook and Taylor Swift for the most simultaneously-charting songs by a soloist in the list's 53-year history. Only the Beatles have held more concurrent positions, having placed 14 songs on the April 11, 1964, Hot 100.

Dewunmi Oyekanmi is a news editor with Naija FM , the picture you are seeing was as a result of battery by the program director , Olisa Adibua who accused him of sleeping on duty around 2 am ,thursday .

Dewunmi was said to be resting on an office couch when Olisa adibua came in and started hitting him with a heavy object ,he was seriouly injured.

Honour us when we are still alive -Nollywood veteran ,Enebeli Elebuwa laments

Nollywood veteran actor ,Enebeli elebuwa has lamented to his colleagues that the government don't honour actors and actresses while they are still alive but dead .

He said;

Government at all levels are busy recognising people with lesser track-records while deliberately failing to acknowledge the meaningful contributions made by notable Nollywood stars."Can you imagine the government is busy recognising riff-raffs? Will they honour me when I'm no more like my colleague and friend, Sam Loco? It's unfair. We deserve to be honoured during our lifetime. Until his death, government did not deem it fit to honour Sam Loco. What a shame!. Despite the contribution i have made towards the development of the nation's entertainment industry, the government has refused to honour people like me.
