Ghanaian actor Eddie Watson joins Nollywood

   Ghanaian actor Eddie Watson, who joined Ghana's movie industry not too long ago, is making it big in the industry.
According to Newsone , the actor is currently on set in Nigeria where he is starring in a movie titled 'Lust'.
This is Eddie's first time of acting in Nigeria and he is starring alongside star actresses  like Ngozi Ezeonu and Queen Nwokoye.
   In Ghana, he is known for his role with top actress Yvonne Nelson in Abdul Salam's, '4play Reloaded'.Eddie joined Ghana's movie industry less than three years ago. He first starred in Bandex Productions' 'Million'where he played the role of Kofi Adjorlolo's bodyguard. He has also starred in movies like 'Masters of The Game'and 'Turn Me On'.
Subsequently, he got scripts for yet-to-be-released 'Somewhere In Africa,' and 'A Reason To Kill'.
   Eddie, a Liberian, attended the College of West Africa and continued at the University of Liberia where he majored in Economics.

Lady Gaga sues company over trademark bids in her name

     Lady gaga says a Nevada-based  company is trying to horn in on her fame to market cosmetics and jewelry. She's suing in New York.
    The Grammy Award-winning pop star sued Excite worldwide LLC on Monday. The lawsuit says the company applied without her permission to trademark the names "Lady Gaga" and "Lady Gaga LG" for makeup and baubles.
    U.S. Patent and trademarks office record show the applications haven't been approved. But the "Poker Face" singer says they're muddying her efforts to add to her own suite of trademarks surrounding her name.
    Her suit says customers could be duped into thinking she's affiliated with Excite Worldwide's products. She's seeking unspecified damages.

Simon cowell says Lady gaga and Beyonce are the most Boring singers in the world

    Simon Cowell has slammed Lady GaGa stating that without seeing her, she is "the most boring singer in the world."
   The X Factor USA judge, who has previously admitted that he would have rejected Lady G if she auditioned for one of his talent shows, claims that along with superstars Beyoncé and Katy Perry, GaGa is boring!
Speaking to The Mirror, the music mogul explained: "If you only ever heard Lady GaGa, she's the most boring singer in the world."
He continued: "You've got to see her – you need TV. Same with Beyoncé. Or Katy Perry. We're all about image. You have to have that X Factor."
While one of the most powerful men in pop may have taken a swipe at GaGa, the Born This Way singer was far too busy meeting the most powerful man in the world,President Obama

      The 16th Edition of African films award a.k.a Afro hollywood awards will hold in the Uk on 6th of November .
     The award ceremony  which will take place at stratford town hall , london  has a rich list of nominees including one of South Africa's leading actors, Presley Chweneyagae (famed for his lead role in Tsotsi), who will slug it out with Nigeria's Saheed Balogun and Ghana's Majid Michael.

      To begin the night that promises a galaxy of top Nollywood stars and the best of  their counterparts in Africa ,UK celebrities and crème de la crème,and diplomats and professionals, is Child Internationale, a play by Prof. Wole Soyinka as an opening glee.
    According to the shortlist of nominees released by the African Voice Newspaper UK, organisers of the awards, the keenly contested list of award nominees features heavyweights such as Tonto Dike, Halima Abubakar, Toyin Aimaku, Jamila Umar Nagudu, Funke Adesiyan, Lekan Oladiipo, Rukky Sandy, Halima Abubakar, Nkiru Sylvanus, Doris Simeon, Toyin Aimaku, Ayo Adesanya, Laide Bakare, Odunlade Adekola and Yomi Fash-Lanso contesting in various other categories.
     The winners in each awards category, who will be attending the awards in London, will be announced at a special ceremony on Sunday 9 October in Osogbo, Osun State, southwest Nigeria.

Pop Singer Nelly Furtado donates Moammar Gadhaffi's money

      Canadian pop singer says she is donating the $1 million she earned to perform for members of former Libyan leader Moammar gadhaffi 's family to the Free the children charity
    Furtado said in February she would donate the money from a 2007 show in Italy for members of Gadhafi's family.
    She made this latest announcement Tuesday at a youth empowerment day organized by Canadian co-founders of Free the children. Her donation will go toward building a girls school in Kenya and a Free the Children program supporting girls in the Middle East and North Africa.
    Usher, Mariah carey, Beyonce have all also promised to give the fees from their performances at private concerts later revealed to be linked to the Gadhafi family to charity or have said they have already done so.

Justin Timberlake to be honored by EMA for environmental efforts

     Justin Timberlake has been lauded for his work in music, TV and film. Now he's about to get an accolade for trying to better the environment.
     The Environmental Media Association says Timberlake will receive its Future Awards, which represents future environmental leaders in entertainment.
   The group cited Timberlake's attempts to reduce his carbon footprint during his tours, his advocacy for environmental issues and his eco-friendly golf course outside of Memphis, Tenn.
    EMA President Debbie levin called Timberlake "a great example of how you can lend your voice for positive change."
Others who have received the award include Edward Norton,Rosario and Maroon 5.
The Environmental Media Awards will be held Oct. 15 in Burbank,

    Nollywood star actress / director ,Joke silva turns 50 tommorow 29th september 2011. she has planned to celebrate with family and friends . 
     Joke silva has been chosen to produce a cinematic version of chinua achebe's popular novel 'Man of the people'
      According to source ,Governor rotimi amaechi of river state will sponsor the project because he is in love with the plot of the novel . He believes it is wise to put the entire character into cinematic format so that it will attract wide audience and patronage and the lessons learnt from the epic movie will change the way and manner Nigerian politicians carry out their responsibilities.

   American  Model Amber Rose who recently co-emceed this year's Vodafone 020 Live concert has announced that she is going to write books to share her past and present experiences and predicaments with the world.She tweeted few days ago ;

I have decided that I will write books. Something u may not know about me is that I've been writing stories for a long time it was always something personal for me but now I'm ready to share my stories with the world. My books are about being in Love, Heartbreak, Sex, betrayal and all of the things that I've been thru in my life. Stories that will make u feel many emotions based on true events of my past and present. I hope u are as excited to read my books as I am to write them for u -Amb
