A ritzy, swanky and lavish new night club christened 'jonzing' is set to have its high profile launch next Wednesday, 28 2011.Located within the highbrow residential and commercial area of Lagos, Nigeria - 'The Island' Off Ajose Adeogun.  This club is the first of its kind.The venue screams 'Lush' to say the least , from the interior to the exterior. Early privileged visitors to the venue have described it as exciting and refreshingly different !It is news worthy that the brain behind this night life entertainment venue is none other than our very own D'prince of Effizy aka OMOBA of  ' MO'HITS  records. 


   The venue have a holding capacity of over 300 people.'JONZING' - Its for your princely entertainment and D'prince of Mo'hits is putting his clout fully behind this venture to show us how to party in style.Though yet to release his debut album, since he first came into the scene with Mo'hits crew, D'prince have had numerous hit singles like 'Ooze', 'I  like what I see', 'Jonzing world'. 'Give it to me ' and his debut hit single 'Omoba'.  He had also been featured on a number of songs with various popular artistes.This jovial, quick witted, intelligent new club boss , in answer to the reason behind his venture into this new sector in entertainment, cited  his need to not just be a part of night life social buzz as an entertainer , but to also be  creatively involved  in an innovative way in entertainment entrepreneurship as a whole. Thus the birth of club 'JONZING'.The term 'distinctly affordable' is  perfect when summing up the intended customer market for this club.

Burial arrangements for rapper MC LOPH announced

  The very amiable young rapper who was bubbling with life and dreams of going places in life was engaged in an auto crash along Benin-Ore expressway on Wednesday 14th September 2011 with four other occupants of his newly acquired Durango SUV. The other occupants were:
Nkiru            (his Fiance)
Chinwe            (his only sister) with her son
Violet            (his aunt)
Amara            (his nephew)

    MC Loph and his only sister Chinwe died on the spot while the others were rushed to a nearby hospital by men of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC); unfortunately Amara (his nephew) died the next day.
He is survived by his aged mother as he had early lost his father to the cold hands of death.

     Burial arrangements had been announced by his cousin Pastor Emmanuel Okafor courtesy of his record label , Morgan Entertainment Company as follows:

  Saturday 22nd October 2011   ; Peaceful walk from Ojuelegba Bus Stop to O'jez Ground, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos by 4:00pm. Candle light night starts immediatley at O'jez Ground.

Wednesday 26th October  ;  Tribute Concert at Emmus House ground by Arthur Eze Avenue off Choice  Hotel Awka, Anambra State from 4:00pm

Thursday 27th October  ;  Wake keeping at Late Mr. Kenneth Nwaozor's compound Ugwuaro, Umunze, Anambra State

Friday 28th October ; Burial at Late Mr. Kenneth Nwaozor's compound Ugwuaro, Umunze, Anambra State

MTV reveals Nominees for O Music awards 2

     MTV is bringing back the O Music Awards just months after debuting the digitally minded awards show.
   In late April, the network premiered the OMAs, a fan-friendly celebration of digital music. Sharply distinct from regular award shows, it featured interactive, fan-voted awards that culminated in a live, multiplatform webcast on MTV Music Group websites.
       MTV  announced the O Music Awards 2 will  take place Oct. 31.  In noting how quickly digital music is changing, Shannon Connolly, vice president of digital music strategy for MTV, pointed to Rebecca Black, whose viral hit "Friday" now feels like a century ago.
"We're celebrating an emerging culture and we're celebrating this thing that's happening really fast," says Connolly. "It's partly debunking the award show format once a year, sticking to all the same categories but it's also because the space is changing so quickly."

Banky W, Wizkid join cast of Shuga:love,sex,money on location in nairobi

         Nigerian musicians Banky W and Wiz Kid are jetting off to Kenya this week to appear in Shuga: Love, Sex, Money, the critically acclaimed sex-and- relationships TV series brought to you by MTV Base, The Staying Alive Foundation, the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and The Partnership for an HIV-Free Generation.

   Banky W and Wiz Kid will both play themselves in the series, performing during emotionally hard-hitting club scenes shot at luxury Nairobi hangout, Skylux Lounge.   Nigerian viewers will get the chance to see Wiz Kid and Banky W in action from 14 February 2012 when Shuga: Love; Sex; Money premieres on MTV channels around the world.

     Joining Banky W and Wiz Kid in the series will be Kenyan singer Avril (Miss B'have) and cast members Sharon Olago (Violet), David Omwange (Skola), Nick Mutuma (Leo), Antony Mwangi (Kennedy) and Valerie Kimani (Sindi), Nick Ndeda (Angelo), Nancy Wanjiku (Baby),Brenda Wairimu (Dala), Edward Nyanaro (Rayban), Ikubese Emmanuel - a.k.a. 9con - (Femi),Christopher Otieno (Slim) and Wairugi Mutero (Njoki). 

    Shuga: Love; Sex; Money is directed by South African veteran director Teboho Mahlatsi andLupita Nyong'o, who played the pivotal character of Ayira in the first series of Shuga. Nyong'o, an award-winning documentary maker and actress, returns on the other side of the camera as co-director and will also be making a brief cameo appearance in the series.
The first series of Shuga was filmed in Kenya in August-September 2009.  Starring a young cast of upcoming Kenyan actors and actresses, Shuga told a bitter-sweet tale of love, loss, sex, heartbreak and relationships, set in the clubs, bars, campuses and hangouts of contemporary Nairobi. With a raw and uncut view on the lives of sexually active young Kenyans, Shuga spot lit the risks associated with unprotected sex and the party-hard lifestyles of urban Kenyan youth, told through the interlinked characters and storylines.

Latin Grammys name Shakira person of the year

    Organizers for the Latin Grammys, the top honors for Latin music, on Monday named Colombian superstar Shakira as their person of the year to be feted at the group's annual awards show in November.
     Shakira, who was nominated for three Latin Grammys this year including album of the year for her "Sale el Sol," will be given the award not only for her songs and performing but for philanthropic work through her Pies Descalzos Foundation.
   "We are honored to pay homage to this dynamic, socially conscious woman whose illustrious career has touched so many people around the world, both musically and personally," Latin Recording Academy president Gabriel Abaroa, Jr. said in a statement.
    Shakira, 34, rose to fame as a singer in the early 1990s combining rock, Latin and Mediterranean music with her own original dancing -- a feature of Shakira's that eventually manifested itself in the smash hit single, "Hips Don't Lie."

Mercy Johnson and John Dumelo for Afro Australian Music And Movie Awards

      Top African actors, John Dumelo and Mercy John will join a host of celebs as special guests at the 3rd edition of the Afro Australian Music And Movie Awards (AAMMA) scheduled to take place in  Sydney, Australia on October 15.
   The award ceremony which takes place at the Enmore Theatre, Newtown Sydney will also see appearances from Pascal Atuma, Awilo Longomba, NSW Opposition Leader MP John Robertson, Nigerian High Commissioner, Ayo Olukanni,= and  Desmond Elliot
    The AAMMA which is the only African award event in Australia and New Zealand was created in 2007 by Daniel Okoduwa.This award event celebrates, appreciates and encourages talents within and outside the African community of Australia, the African continent and Diaspora; 'Friends of Africa' are also appreciated.
Past winners include  Tuface Idibia, Emmerson Bockarie, Jimmy Bangura, Monalisa Chinda, Ejike Asiegbu.
