Death and Blindness Rumours: Mercy Johnson is Alright

Mercy johnson on a movie set some days ago
Press release

As at the time of writing this, blogspheres and entertainment industry is awashed with rumour that star actress, Mercy Johnson suffered blindness and experienced a terrible accident that led to her death.
This rumor has no resemblance or iota of truth. Mercy is on a movie location in Lagos and getting set for her trip to Australia in a matter of days.
After diligent investigation, we discovered the rumour started as a result of a publicity stunt initiated by producer of a movie where Mercy's character lost an eye. Another part of the rumor was started by detractor whose only goal is pull MJ down by all means.
It is despicable to note that these rumors were strengthened by writers who did not crosscheck before posting on their blogs, platforms or newspapers. We decry this act of insensitivity and irresponsibility especially as it affects family, friends and fans.
We appreciate family, friends and fans that have taken time to call out of concern and love and we wish to let them know that mercy is hale and hearty.

We implore bloggers and writers to kindly cross check reports on mercy with us to avoid using their platforms to promote falsehood and abate inappropriate ''PR stunts'' by those who want to sell their movies or those whose goal is to pull others down at all costs.

Thanks for your understanding

Amy Winehouse's Back to Black dress sold for £43,200 at auction

Posted: 30 Nov 2011 06:53 AM PST

The dress that Amy Winehouse wore on the front cover of her 'Back To Black' album has been sold for £43,200 at an auction in London.

The BBC reports that the printed chiffon dress, which was made by fashion designer Disaya Sorakraikitikul, was purchased by the Chilean fashion museum Museo de la Moda at La Galleria yesterday (November 29) for more than twice the £20,000 it was expected to fetch

Sorakraikitikul donated the proceeds of the sale to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, the charity set up by the late singer's family in July to honour her memory.
Winehouse's father Mitch said he was "over the moon" that the designer, Disaya, donated the proceeds to a foundation set up in her memory.

The 27-year-old singer was found dead at her flat in Camden in July.

Ragae star,Vybz Kartel Escapes From Prison After Holding Officer At Gunpoint

----  Named jamaican most wanted criminal

Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel, who earlier this month was denied bail after being charged with two murders, has reportedly escaped from prison.
The popular artist had been in custody since October 1 after being charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and illegal possession of a firearm following the deaths of Clive 'Lizard' Williams in August and Gregory Park in July.
Reports from Jamaica now claim Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, escaped from Horizon Adult Remand Centre along with seven other prisoners after apparently holding the prison guards hostage at gunpoint.

According to the Hype Life Magazine, one prison officer died of a heart attack as a result of the escape while 12 others were injured. Two were shot with guns that had apparently been smuggled into the prison, the report suggested.

Some of the prisoners had taken the officers' clothing and car keys to aid the escape, while one group apparently impersonated prison guards on the phone to ward off suspicion.
After gaining control of the jail, the prisoners managed to escape from the prison ground using a maintenance pick-up truck at around 1.45am, local time.
While one of the prisoners was captured by the police, the rest are currently on the run. Kartel and the other escapees are now apparently listed as 'Jamaica's most wanted criminals'.
