Michaels has been banned by the National Film and Video Censors Board(NFCVB). The film was billed to commence showing at the Silverbird and Genesis Deluxe Cinemas last weekend. He lamented the decision by the board to ban the movie, saying that he spent a lot of money to produce the thriller which will now go down the drain."The censors board claimed that my film showed Nigeria in a negative way and depicted what is going on in Nigerian politics and crime at the moment.'said Michaels who also directed the movie. An International Action Director, GuGu Michaels has written and directed over six feature length pictures, including "Unge's War" which is an epic_action adventure. see the trailer |
Posted: 22 Oct 2010 10:19 PM PDT SMVA is an award used to reward excellence in the art of creativity of production videos, and the origin or the basis for which SMVA was born to give a platform and equal opportunities to the various talents that Nigeria has recorded over the years. The history of the Nigerian music industry will not be completed without the chapter of the group p-square. If achievements are one of the yard sticks to measure the success of artistes, P-square will remain number one on the chart of all research groups. They have defiled the odds, weathered the storm and re-written the history of the Nigerian music industry; they have also proven that there are always differences between artistes and musicians. Arguable, p-square remain the most popular Nigerian artiste all around the globe. It is generally concluded that this set of twins PAUL & PETER OKOYE remains one of the greatest symbol of Nigerian entertainment industry alongside legendary Afro beat icon Fela. P- Square the dynamic duo who have been nominated in 4 various categories which are Best Editing, Best Duo or Group Video, Best Video and Best western because of their hit song Danger speak about SMVA. SMVA is making meaningful impact in the entertainment industry as it's the only 24hr dedicated music channel, which gives them leverage and authority to host a video award says the Duo. It's a good feeling and rewarding feeling to be nominated Pan African in these 4 categories but it came as no surprise to us because of the quality, value and time put into every song, video or album as we consistently strive to bring out quality videos, concepts and ideas and people are glad watching it because we don't do half measures. Although the credits goes to the director as he is the brain child behind the videos. SMVA 2010 has incorporated a PAN African approach and this is a laudable feat and gives us a good challenge because we always give the best videos in Africa and without bragging as we have the best concept, quality, originality and videos that can be compared to our foreign counterparts. Speaking about Danger, an album which has been nominated for various awards, Paul explained the technicality and the procedure used to shoot the video, which he explained as tasking, rigorous and very challenging, the video which was shot in slow motion for every scene and required everyone taking panadol after every 2hrs. With this hard work, it leaves no doubt that Danger was made for SMVA awards because of the technicality. The criteria for the selection of nominees and winners of the SMVA's are very technical as it is based on the creative interpretation and value employed in the expression of talent. The dynamic duo believe that they have what it takes to clinch awards because of the time, efforts and creative interpretation of their videos. The Nigerian artiste also know the value of work that their peers put into their videos and as such for a lot of categories the winners are almost known by the stake holders and that is the quality of video's that P-square does. SMVA 2010 which will be taking place on the 20th of November at the new Expo Center, Eko hotel will be a breath taking event, as the dynamic duo who haven't attended an award ceremony in the last 2years have pledged their support and attendance to SMVA as it is the only award ceremony who has the platform to host a music video award because of its 24 hour musical station. |

Kunle Oluwaremi wins Gulder ultimate search season 7 Posted: 22 Oct 2010 05:20 PM PDT We have been bringing you the exclusive news from Gulder ultimate search season 7 jungle in ijebu ode, we can now tell you that Kunle Oluwaremi is the winner of this Year's GUS Twenty-three year old Ekiti state born Oluremi Oyekunle, last night emerged season 7 winner of the Nigerian Breweries sponsored reality show, the Gulder Ultimate Search. He emerged a winner after a tension soaked and pulsating challenge that left viewers gasping for breath. The journey towards the final showdown began when Chukwuma Anyanwu, 21, lost out in the day's second challenge allowing Adeleke, Atiku and Oyekunle to make the final. The final challenge would take a combination of mental and physical strengths to scale through, task master Bob had told the finalists as this was also a crucial factor in determining who the ultimate hero would be. After the countdown, Atiku was the first to shoot forward. He was able to hook his bundled plates, climbed over the wooden wall, landed safely and ran straight into the bush to sort out his prototype box, and began to set the two boxes that were needed to complete the scale with which he will climb up to cut down the suspended bridge that leads straight to the champion zone.Whoever got to the champion's spot would lift the hero's flag that was kept on the floor there to signify his triumph. On the trail of Atiku was Oyekunle, Adeleke on the other hand, was left behind at the start zone, struggling to hook his bundled plates. Adeleke eventually hooked the plates and caught up with the two. To the chagrin of all, Adeleke was the first to construct one of the two boxes while others were still fumbling with theirs. However, after about thirty minutes on the box, the ever smiling Oyekunle shocked the anchorman Bob-Manuel when he suddenly announced that he had completed all his boxes. At this time Adeleke and Atiku couldn't just figure out the way out. The first box that Adeleke earlier constructed collapsed in his face and he became aghast. The anxiety that had accompanied the final showdown melted away at exact 4.30pm, when the slimmest of the three warriors Oyekunle Oluremi ran wildly to the beam, took his machete, set his three boxes, climbed over the boxes, cut the rope that tied the bridge to the beam, ran across it like a wild cat, picked the pole.Jumped inside the champion spot and hoisted the pole with the champion's flag. Kunle's countenance changed, his face contoured he was shouting like a cry, running madly across the field, asking rhetorically, "Am I the Ultimate Hero, Am I dreaming?" "Ah! Ah! I am The Last Man Standing".The highly elated Bob-Manuel, the four times Gulder Ultimate Search presenter, in the heat of the euphoria, held Kunle's hands and declared, "by the power bestowed on me by the Council of Elders in Omo Forest, I declare you, Oyekunle Oluremi, as the Ultimate Hero we have been searching for this past 21 days, Therefore you are pronounced the winner of the 2010 Gulder Ultimate Search. Take the King's goblet, go and celebrate". Congrats to Kunle .Join us next year for GUS season 8 |

Chukwuma also evicted from GUS,remaining three men in the jungle Posted: 22 Oct 2010 08:27 AM PDT It is always painful for a man to see his dreams crash, particularly the one he has high hopes on. The hope of being crowned the ultimate hero that would go home with the ultimate prize of N7 million another N500,000 clothing allowance and a 2011 model SUV jeep in the Gulder Ultimate search 7 evaporated right in the face of Chukwuma Anyanwu. However, the story of 2010 Gulder Ultimate Search's League of Heroes' 21 days exploit in the ancient village of J4, right in the middle of Omo Forest Reserve can never be fully told without the heroic performances of the 21 year old, Imo state born Nigerian youth who took special permission from his school, University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom to come and search for fame and fortune in the 7th edition of the most entertaining, globally acclaimed adventurous television reality show in Nigeria. They were asked to lift two heavy sandbags, hanged at the edges of a long rod. Each of them was tasked to carry the sandbags on their shoulder, climb a ladder up a beam where they had to stand stiff for forty minutes. Their hands and legs became numb after standing aloof for almost an hour. Despite their frigid situation, the task master ordered them to walk across the beam with the sandbags still on their shoulders; they must not lose balance. It was grievously painful for the four warriors especially Chukwuma who was regarded as the weakling among the four. Pain, anxiety, despair were constructively written on their faces. To the chagrin of all, immediately after the countdown from Bob-Manuel, the task master, Chukwuma beat the others to the game. He was the first among the contestants to hit the yellow spot on the safe side of the beam before he landed upright on the ground. He shouted, jumped up and embraced the other three who could barely stand nor talk due to fatigue. This feat; unbelievable proof of human endurance by these four men, threw the task master off balance because, there ought to be an eviction that day. Who would it be? Nobody can tell. The four joyfully went back to their camp without knowing what the future holds. The Council of Elders later met and decided that there must be another trial for the four later same day! While the four were still basking in the euphoria of their exploits in the morning, one of them suddenly found a clue. This was an unusual experience. They never received two clues in a day. The clue confirmed their worst fear. They have been asked to come out for another challenge. As at that time, they were still nursing serious body pains suffered from the sandbag challenge done in the morning. Well, they marched out to the task zone; hill top, where the task master was eagerly waiting for them. Bob-Manuel, in his characteristic mien, welcomed them, praised them for the unprecedented success they recorded in the morning's challenge He introduced the next challenge and told them to prepare for the worst. They were to run a quarter mile down the hill where they will find four sandbags. Each one of them must carry a bag and run back to the hill top, to the exact spot where they left. This was more like a punishment. Before sending them on their way, he chipped in "Please don't come last". Though, the self acclaimed king of the jungle, Adeleke Oshimade came first, followed by Atiku, Kunle, then Chukwuma, they were clearly exhausted. For coming last, Chukwuma got red-carded. At the Place of The Talking Drum later in the night, the Council of Elders praised the young warrior. He was even indulged to make a choice of his peg. He chose a black peg which according to him, was the colour that best described his personality. Chukwuma lost gallantly and was given a hero's eviction. He left no one in doubt that he was a true warrior. His footprints have become indelible in the Gulder Ultimate Search's Hall of Fame. |
