It is easy to add memory to your Macbook computer. Adding memory is necessary as the times progress in order to upgrade the amount of RAM in your Macbook computer so that it will run correctly. Upgrading the RAM in your Macbook computer will speed up your Macbook computer since the new programs that you introduce will use more RAM. Your programs will run more slowly when your RAM is full. Here is how to do a Macbook memory upgrade.
Remove the power from Macbook computer. Disconnect the security lock, USB cables, Ethernet cable, power adapter, and any other cables that may be connected to your Macbook computer in order to prevent them from damaging your Macbook computer.
Turn your Macbook computer over and remove the 10 screws securing the bottom case. Since the screws all have different lengths, take careful note the screw locations and lengths so you can replace the screws properly and place them aside in a safe place. Lift the case off and set it aside. In order to discharge any static electricity from your body, touch any metal surface inside your Macbook computer.
Removal of old RAM In order to release the module from the memory card slot, push the levers on the sides of the memory module in an outward direction. The memory will come up at an angle. Prior to removing it, ensure that you see the semi circular notches. If you don't see the semi circular notches, press the levers outward again. Remove it from the slot by holding the memory module by its notches. Then, remove the other memory module.
Installation of new RAM Use the slot in the lower memory slot to align the notch on the gold edge of the module. Tilt the card and push the memory into the slot. Using 2 fingers apply firm, even pressure and push down on the memory module. When the memory is inserted properly you should hear a click. Repeat this procedure to install an additional memory module in the top slot. Make sure the memory is level by pressing down on the module.
That is all there is to doing a memory upgrade to a Macbook computer. Now your programs will run faster and you will be able to run some programs that you weren't able to run before the memory upgrade. The memory upgrade to your Macbook computer will also allow it to run more efficiently.
